That sounds great!
One of my main complaints would be about all the "repeat" posts- with multiple cities posting the same story, so it would show up repeatedly on the main page. And the end-of-week summaries seem pretty unnecessary; are they going to go too??

Someone built a cabinet to hold a front-loading washer and dryer (stacked). Seems like a good idea, but it's made out of particle-board and not quite straight.

Using a grill (of any kind) on a balcony or rooftop is illegal in most cities. But I think most people do it anyway...

I found a vintage curtain panel in a really great print... unfortunately, it was only the ONE panel. I loved the pattern so much, I turned it into 3 throw pillows!

I had one of these. It held up fairly well while indoors, with the exception of table legs poking holes in it a little bit. But I'd advise against putting it outside. It started to shed all over the place!

I don't know if I'll ever dye anything in the washing machine again... seems like a really good idea, and I got decent results, but not quite perfect enough! Followed all the directions exactly, but still ended up with a few dark splotches of dye on my couch slipcovers. Makes it look like something got spilled on them! It's not super noticeable, but not great, either. It's just too much fuss for average results.

We don't personally have an alarm system, but my apartment building is very secure! Cameras in the garage and lobby, alarm system, and access only via a fob. Our apartment door just has a deadbolt, but I feel quite safe. We are also way too high up to worry about anyone breaking in through a window!

I'm just glad you're done with all those "best of" posts!! I mean, most of us have been reading this site all year - that was totally unnecessary! Booooooooring. I stopped visiting your site in December...

What about the neighbor's out-of-control KIDS? I guess that could be under "person he lives with"? Anyway, they ride bikes and play soccer in the central courtyard of our building - screaming, horns blowing, soccer balls flying all over the place! Sometimes they even throw rocks!
And it's a really trashy family of course... parents don't do anything. Not to mention, they are the only family with kids anywhere around here. I live in the middle of the city, in a not so kid-friendly area, so I have no idea what they're doing here in the first place. I guess the kids have nowhere else to play (sad), but really annoying!!

I've been without a land line for the past 5 years and saw no need for one at any point during that time. The only (rare) complication was when I was trying to set up my cable tv service and it kept directing me to the wrong regional office based on my area code - I've lived all over the place, but my cell phone number is still based out of my hometown. But it was just a minor nuisance.
I now have a land line for the sole purpose of letting people into my apartment building, since that's the only way of connecting to the intercom. I still don't use it for anything else, and honestly, I'm annoyed by the telemarketers already!
I guess it's good to have for emergencies, but I just don't get why the most basic, bare bones, phone plan is so expensive!! That's my main reason for going without.

They forgot Odell Lake! That's the other game I remember playing in elementary school. You were a fish and had to avoid being eaten. I'm not really sure what I learned from that, though?

Bad windows. My first apartment ever had really old, single-pane windows and I REALLY paid for it that winter!! I signed the lease in the spring, so heating bills were the last thing on my mind.
Also, I completely agree with formosagirl: the area around the apartment is really important. I lived in a bad neighborhood once because the apartment was nice and a great deal - never again!

I looove the look of these, but hopefully they're well-insulated! You have neighbors on every single side! Doesn't seem too practical privacy-wise.

I used to live in an apartment with TONS of wood paneling and a brick fireplace (in the middle of the city... go figure), so it was always known as "the log cabin." None of my other houses/apartments have had names, though. We usually just call everything by the street name.

If it was up to me, I would have turned the heat on days ago!! But my apartment building has central heat (so we just pay for electricity to run the blowers) and it's still set on air-conditioning! It takes a few weeks to transition.
This happens every time the seasons change, and I end up dealing with it using a space heater. I love how much money I save on heating and cooling overall, but I do miss having control over when I switch from a/c to heat.

P.S. I previously lived on a very noisy street next to a bar, with trucks backing up at 6am every day (beeping noises) and drunks yelling at 3am and it drove me crazy!! I had to sleep with earplugs every night.
The train I live next to now is nothing compared to that! Maybe it's because the sound is almost comforting? Like mskk said, it's very rhythmic so it doesn't bother me as much as random street noise.

I've lived directly next to a train (like you could jump out my window and land on it) for the past year, and honestly, it's not that bad at all! I used to laugh at people who lived by trains and wonder, why on Earth would anyone do that?
But then I found this awesome apartment (to rent) and figured I could deal with it, at least for a while!
We have double-plated windows and are on the second floor, as well. Trains are super loud if you open the back windows, but we don't open them on that wall. It's really just more of a slight nuisance more than anything.
You just turn up the TV when a train goes by. I'm surprised by how quickly I got used to them!!
I've lived a lot of places, and trains are BY FAR the least annoying type of noise. Noisy neighbors, loud music, traffic, car alarms, and people talking on the street are all way more unbearable! I would choose a train over noisy neighbors any day. In fact, I just renewed my lease!

A sheepskin rug will always give me a weirdly sentimental feeling... when I was a baby, my parents lined my stroller with one. So it just reminds me of that! I'm not sure how I feel about it for home decor though.

Ikea has the small one for really, really cheap, by the way.
