If the house is from the 1920s, then there probably is hardwood under that carpet. When you get in the house, pull up one corner and see. If so, just have them refinished. Bamboo, Cork, or Wood Flooring for (Future) Dog Owners? Good Questions |

I grew up with going to Moravian Lovefeasts in NC every Christmas eve. I miss it now as I now live on the other side of the globe. I do still have a Moravian star on top of my tree. I miss certain foods around the holidays more but I have taken up baking and I am doing my best to make the treats that I miss the most like Moravian sugarcake. One new tradition though is a champagne toast at midnight on Christmas, which I have to say I like a lot. :) Keeping Up Old Holiday Traditions & Making New Ones |

Measure all door frames and spaces that the sofa must pass through to get to your apartment... height and width (and depth of the elevator)...and right them all down for when you go sofa shopping. then, look for a sofa that will fit through those spaces with an inch or two to spare. Always check the return policy of the furniture store to be safe...if you measure wrong, it is always good to have option to return or exchange it if needed. I would maybe paint the wall behind the tv red. Above the credenza, I would put a large mirror with a red frame. Another idea is adding wall decals to the wall. I would remove the palm tree border. Replace the bathmats with white woven ones. I would also remove any decorations like the wall hangings and the flowers. Replace the dead bulb.
