As far as I'm concerned, the one gadget that I simply will not be without is my kitchen rock! I don't know why people don't believe that a rock can be so wonderful. This is good, but you still have to smash the garlic before mincing. Also, many people do not have the kind of hands that can take that impact. Also, you're left with one trashed plastic bag and two bowls to wash. I've found that using a simple kitchen rock is the best way to handle garlic.
