All the ladies at my office have been talking about this. It's a tough issue and I think there are a slew of potential combatants, plans, etc. that work, but they eventually all boil down to one -- switching holidays every other year. My boyfriend of 5+ years and I have still not mastered this (and neither has my co-worker with her boyfriend of 11 years!)
My parents are divorced and my boyfriends parents are divorced. I've come to call the holidays _____ Extravaganza. (Fill in the blank with whatever holiday.) It's an eating marathon and is just getting worse every year. My family is moving closer, yet that's a 4th place to visit because it would be an eternal sin to have my (poorer) family intermingle with my boyfriend's wealthier side of the family. I don't even know where to start.

Absolutely inspirational. I am overwhelmed on a daily basis - over-committing myself to 3+ soccer teams (managing 2), 2 jobs, and updates around the house...which I never start because I'm worried I'll never have time to finish. Thank you for sharing! I love the picture idea to keep one motivated and remembering how far it's come already. I think I'll pick up that paint I have sitting by the front entry and just put a light coat on. It has to dry anyway. By summer, maybe I'll sluff of some of my other responsibilities just to conquer a long awaited home project (and maybe adopt a puppy). Thanks again! :)

I love the balance of colors, metal, and warm woods. Perfect for my taste.

I love the details in this home. It is absolutely inspiring and says so much about what the owner must be like - incredibly creative and loving of animals and life (even past their life!) However, I really must know how she keeps it clean or what her housekeeper(s) use/do to dust and clean those chandeliers, feathers, living doors?! I always look at something (furniture, knick knacks, etc.) and walkaway from it because I realize it would be a nightmare to keep clean.

We fold the laundry while on the couch and everyone is responsible for their own piles. It works well most of the time.

Perfection. Mazen, I am in love... with your place. I live in a small and narrow house. The palette is very similar to mine. This is absolute inspiration. Thank you!
