I borrowed this book from the library a couple months ago, and actually, the book encompasses a pretty good spread of Asia. Sure, not all of the countries are represented, but the book is not solely referring to East Asia. The Asian Grandmothers Cookbook by Patricia Tanumihardja New Cookbook |

You can buy reusable N'esspresso and K-cup coffee pods (and probably tons of other kinds). You just scoop in your ground coffee into their reusable pods, and get your coffee right away. Then you take out the pod, dump out the grounds, maybe rinse it out a bit with water, and bingo-bango, you're in business for another cup. Easy and more environmentally friendly! Just google it. I'm not a biochem expert, but...I believe leaching of BPA is usually only dangerous if the food that is in the product is warm to hot. If you are only transporting cold sandwiches, I don't think this would be a problem. Even if you had a hot sandwich, you could wrap it in some parchment paper and the leaching would probably be avoided. Look! Make a Sandwich Carrier Out of a Milk Jug Make |

@MSCHATELAINE: don't forget increased spending on the defense department and cabinet ministers' spending. @DUANE HILL: that was what I was thinking too, because a standard hardwood staircase can easily cost upwards of ten grand... not something that you would want to do with a rental unit. Plus, putting in a new staircase is a nightmare in logistics, as you would literally have to rip the entire structure out and replace it with another entire staircase... again, not something the typical renter would want to do How To Improve Rental Stairway? I know that this comment section is pretty much over, but I just wanted to say that we purchased a reel mower (Brill powercut 33, if anyone's interested), and it cut fantastically. We had longish grass by the time we got around to it, and the thing went right through it. Quibbles are that it's sort of narrow (33 cm), it clips the grass at a maximum height of just about 2 inches which may be too short for some people, and it tosses the grass clippings behind it, which, because we waited a while before cutting, was quite a mass of clippings. Being the lazy gardeners that we are, however, we let it sort of 'melt' into the lawn and now the clippings aren't visible. All in all, a Great purchase.
