The smell of asafetida is hideous. I am still trying to find a way for my husband to store it so I don't get a face-full every time I walk past the spice cupboard.

I do this, too. Laptop, iPhone, Nook, they all have a place on my nightstand.

A bagle sandwich stop around here used to sever "Ranchero" sauce on a few of their sandwiches. it wasn't Ranch, but definitely was mayo-based, and quite yummy.

Another GR resident here! Founders is AMAZING, even if the Breakfast Stout is a little too much for my delicate palate.

West Michigan has a pretty rockin' beer scene overall, in great part thanks to Founders.

If we are speaking of at-home habits, and of controlling how much you eat, I would advocate much more strongly for taking at first a little bit less than you think you may need, then going back for more if you chose to do so. There is no need to waste the "untaken" food, you may pack it in a lunch the next day or make use of it in some other way.

If we are speaking of restaurants, I think it is acceptable to ask the restaurant to box the unfinished portion (or even box half in advance of your meal)

In the homes of others, it is reasonable to leave food on your plate if the serving was too much for you.

The few chickens that would need to be culled is still SO SMALL in terms of how many chickens are destroyed by large egg/chicken meat producers. If you're willing to respectfully care for your own chickens, you will be doing many more chickens a favor than those that would need to be removed from your flock.
