A bit off topic, but what is the dish shown in the picture? That looks delicious!!

Just bought my first bottle of Lillet Blanc. Looking forward to having some tonight. It's still a bit too chilly to enjoy it out in the backyard, but I'm sure it's just as delicious when enjoyed indoors!

Middleton (Neat, or with Ice)
Maker's Mark (What I usually use for my Manhattan's, although I've been leaning towards Rye lately)
Patron (My go-to for margaritas and Palomas)
St. Germain (sometimes to add to champage, sometimes to add to club soda)
Bailey's Irish Cream (Husband loves it in his coffee!)
Some kind of vermouth (still looking for a winner...any suggestions?)

I definetly recommend getting creative with table decor. My husband and I just hosted our first family dinner (Easter) since getting married. I didn't have any bud vases and the table layout didn't lend itself to one central arrangement. Instead of runing out to buy vases, I took a look though our cabinets and decided that his favorite pilsner glasses could hold a few tulips in each PERFECTLY.
He might not get them back!

Our office has many different ethnicities represented, so our potlucks are incredibly interesting. Chili and Pulled pork are ususally the mains (slowly warming in crockpots all morning). Bahn mi, fried rice, baked ziti, coleslaw, lentil salad, cold fried chicken, meatloaf, pernil, arroz y gandules and samosas have all gone over really well.
The non-cooks usually bring paper goods, drinks and sometimes store-bought items (if the menu is looking like it's missing something vital).
A few important things...
1) ask people to list ingredients for their contributions to help out those with foodl allergies and dietary restrictions
2) dish soap and a sponge!
3) containers for leftovers..we always have way way way too much food and no one ever remembers to bring something to take the extras home in.

I remember seeing something (on AT, maybe?) about using double sided tape to wallpaper an accent wall. Depending on just how much wall you have, this could be a pain. But maybe a few taped-up accent walls will change the space enough to make it liveable?

It's our first V-Day as a married couple, so I've decided to start a tradition...Chinese takeout from our favorite place.
We're going out this weekend to celebrate instead.

Grilled veg and goat cheese on toasted multigrain. Just about anything works, but sweet potatoes and asparagus are especially nice.

Yes! I feel exactly the same way. My favorites add ons are chickpeas, candied nuts (bonus points for pecans), corn (bonus points, again, for fresh), cucumbers and roasted veggies (usually a combo of sweet potato and cauliflower).
I'm almost at the point where I'll stop using lettuce all together.

Anyone have a favorite store-bought beef broth they recommend? I have yet to find one that I love. I don't use it often, so making my own just doesn't make sense.
