I agree too. We have a teenager and a 5 year old. We have a tiny little patio area next to our driveway, just big enough for a large picnic table and a sandbox that we bring out in the summer months. All of the kids around here play out front. We live in a cul-de-sac that is ideal for kid play, riding bikes, playing games. We have some fold up tents that we put out on the lawn so they can play and have picnics in them, etc. I encourage neighbor parents to tie their dogs to our dog tie-out and sit at picnic bench when they're out with their kids. And of course, for kids to play in sandbox, even when we're not home. It's a way to build community and sharing. There is a really great book about this called Playborhood. We now enjoy the kind of relationships with our neighbors that we've always wanted in other neighborhoods.

I believe Shiva Rose is the ex-wife of Dylan McDermott, right? What a lovely family! It's also nice to see that someone who could afford (I presume) to buy a McMansion is more interested in refurbishing an older home. It's very cozy and homey, great job!

We just bought one each of the Crane humidifiers for our boys. They are smaller than the big clunker in the master bedroom. Fit nicer in a kids bedroom. One boy got an orange one, the other went for blue and white. They are easy to fit under the tap too, don't have to fill in the bathtub. They work great too. They help a lot with dry coughs and other cold symptoms. Don't mean to sound like an advertisement, but these humidifiers rock!
