Friends thought I was crazy but when I sold my home last year and moved into a rental the very first thing I did was get rid of the 80's PINK laminate counters with a nicer neutral, it was the one thing I couldn't live with, day in and day out for even a month much less a year! ( landlord wouldn't do it) it looks like I might stay another year, so the light fixtures are next..and I can take them with me! YOLO: The Renter's Edition |

After 5 fabulous years, I recently sold my dream home ( mid century modern 2600 sq ft) and moved into an 1000 sq ft apartment and for me, besides the light and being dog friendly, number one was having my own personal outdoor space. I have a covered porch that is the perfect place I go to many times a day, and it gives me so much pleasure! What's Your #1 Must Have Feature at Home? |

Just a heads up! I have Ceasar stone in my kitchen in the honed ( not shiny) Carrera and that finish does stain like crazy and scratch easily, I also did a honed finish in another color in one of my baths ( what can I say..I loved the non shiny look) and it is really hard to keep looking nice..water leaves stain marks on it. I was told it was just as durable as the shiny but it is NOT! ( still looks cool though) All About: Quartz Countertops Countertop Spotlight |

Since she has so much warm color in her furniture,& accessories I would suggest a deep teal or purple for the wall with a LOT of gray undertones. I would get rid of the pyramid shape above the fireplace if possible, if not then get rid of the medallion on it and paint the shape the wall color to make it disappear.A large painting or mirror above it and chunky shelving in white wood on either side, TV has to stay on side of FP, not a fan of it being on top at all, show us the finished product! I think it looks great! I had a smaller mirror behind a stove once, it reflected the window and what was going on behind me which was way better than starting at a dark wall while cooking. It is considered good feng shui and really was no big problem to keep it clean Would You Hang an Oversized Mirror in Your Kitchen? |
