What Are Your Favorite Hangover Foods?

I cannot eat a whole hard shell lobster. It makes me nauseated to look at it. And it smells like low tide. Can't do it.

I can eat lobster meat, but only if someone else has gotten it out for me and the shell is no where to be seen.

Was just eating at the Momofuku Ssam last week. After dinner we went over and got half a dozen cookies to go.

I think its a special treat to go there and get them, not necessarily something I want to make in my own home. (too much temptation!)

love the cat tails!

my nat-a-pus doesn't like people food, but whenever I am washing lettuce she always steals a piece or two when I'm not looking.

That's the only reason she gets on the counter so I have just learned to laugh and love her for it.

My favorite great aunt passed away a couple of summers ago. For awhile it was weird not to see her signature dishes on the table at holiday times. A few weeks ago I decided to try out one of her recipes for apple squares for a cooking competition.

I was so happy when I pulled them out of the oven and they looked and tasted just like they did when she used to make them.

I can't afford the specialtly shops or the real foodie fancy restaurant places but here's my list of favorites that are much more reasonable (i.e. <50 dollars for 2)....

<3 Russo's, but avoid it like the plague unless I'm up really early. After noon the place is packed and the quality of the food isn't as reliable.

<3 Dom's Sausage, my friend's family owns the store. The Patriott tips are effin awesome. I've been trying to get him to steal me the recipe for the marinade, but no dice.

There are a lot of suggestions here for south end and cambridge sommerville so I'll branch out a bit:

NU area:
The Mission on Mission Hill is a fun bar with a tasty menu.

Back Bay:
The Rattlesnake just re-did their menu and is no longer frat boy food. I enjoyed a great grilled watermelon salad there a few weeks ago.

Brookline:
The Publick House is a Belgian style tap house with an amazing beer selection and has great mac and cheese.

Allston/Brighton:
I've heard lots of great things about soul fire.
Also many friends go to hot pot out there.
Also Sunset Grill and Sunset Cantina have awesome cheap eats with great beers and tequilas.

Seaport:
Skip Legal Sea Foods and instead go to the Legal Test Kitchen in the Seaport district (although pricey)

I could go on and on...

Bring headache and stomach ache medicine. There are no 24 hr CVS stores abroad. I always find that my stomach gets upset or my head aches on the first few nights of a trip. Having a remedy at hand is key so you can get a good night sleep.

Having grown up on a real farm I don't really understand "urban farming" including chickens and bees and whatever else. I thought I moved to the city to get away from having the feed the chickens!

Grew up drinking nothing but milk.

Now I usually drink water or a beer.

love this because it looks like a house that someone actually lives in!

The problem with perfectly curated spaces is that one piece of clutter throws the whole place off.

This place looks like it would be a pleasure to live in!

Plug In Appliances I have:

3 hand mixers (no idea why)
1 small food processor (gift from mom 2008)
1 large food processor (gift from mom 2007)
Toaster Oven <3
1 immersion blender <3
coffee bean grinder
1 quesadilla maker (ridiculous, i know, I never use it)
ancient crock pot that i love even though the lid doesn't fit well.

Other stuff:
2 French Presses
2 rolling pins (why?!?!!?)
2 pastry cutters
2 microplanes big and small
far too many sheet pans
far too many baking pans
tart shell (i don't cook tarts)
1 cake pan (where did my other cake pan go?)

Pots/Pans
1 way too big noodle pot
1 medium pot that I lost the lid to
1 small pot with good fitting lid
2 rissotto pots (i loooove cooking in these) they have small handles and are heavy.
2 poached egg pans (1 cooks only 1 egg, 1 cooks 4)
2 unseasoned never used cast iron skillets (inherited when my mom got a conductive range (aparently cast iron scratches)
1 heavy stainless skillet
1 pot with really high sides, i think its supposed to be used for stirring on the range.
cast iron pizza stone

i think i need to be cured!

Sorry this post clearly won't help your problem, just wanted you to know that you aren't alone!

The first thing I thought when I looked at this post was "wow what a grown up space"

not really sure that its my style. I am tall and tend to feel awkward in places with really low furniture, but it certainly is well put together.

In the winter all my summer supplies (gardening, camping, beach) go in the trunk of my car. Its shameful, but effective!

I love these, especially for hanging pants and skirts. I find that they don't put bumps in sweaters or tops either.

I get them at T.Js or Marshalls and haven't had any problems.
