The rooms are gorgeous, and if you plan to move before the baby reaches toddler-hood, then this is the wisest path, seeing how potential buyers don't want a blue and pink striped bedroom. Sophisticated Nurseries: 10 Rooms with Grownup Style |

@sporadicus: the point of the post is to stock the pantry, not your fresh produce, cheese, meat, or meat substitutes. In other words, not the items on the perimeter, but the interior aisles. Stocking a Healthier Pantry From Whole Foods for $99: Can It Be Done? |

Why are they in the kitchen? They have an eat-in spot right there in front. I don't know why they can't do it there and stay out of the way of whomever is preparing dinner. I don't have an eat-in kitchen, but, as my house is 1000 square feet, my dining room is the room next door so it's basically the same thing. A Homework Station in the Kitchen |

I don't know if you guys are anywhere near a Whole Foods, but they carry dairy products that are organic, only 'regular' (not UHT) pasteurized, and don't contain rGHB. That's where I get all of my dairy. It's their '365' brand. New Product: Trader Joe's Shelf-Stable Whipping Cream Product Review |

I would love to see a bunch of non-meat protein dishes. I love meat. I also don't like buying it or cooking it that often. I think it's best to get protein from veg sources as often as possible. Thanks, The Kitchn! Give Us Your Recipe & Tutorial Requests! Reader Request Week Is Coming |

I, too, made this. It's so good. I've actually made it for a lunch guest tomorrow. I'll just warm it up before lunch. I think this is going to go into regular rotation. Easy and nutritious. Recipe for All: Curried Coconut Carrot Soup |

We have Holmes HEPA air purifiers in our two bedrooms. We use them specifically for white noise, as our house is tiny and it helps us sleep. The bonus, I feel, is that it helps filter the air. We have two kitties, live fairly close to two highways, and we rarely get ill. We also have a house that has lots of windows that we can open to air out the place. I like the ones we have and they've been working great for many years. Do You Use an Air Purifier in the Nursery? |

Whisk, tongs, oven mitts, silicone mitt for removing very tight jar lids, silpat liner, stainless turner, pizza cutter, one of those small measuring cups for up to 2 oz/4 Tbs of liquid, and some smaller lidded jars to hold remaining cheese/sauce/etc, although I just use artichoke/pimiento jars, a few tiny cutting boards for when you're just slicing up a lime or something and don't want to mess up a whole huge cutting board... Hmm - to those folks who are wondering about your bread not being 'tall' enough: maybe your baking powder/soda isn't fresh? Maybe you sub'ed too much, maybe too much whole wheat flour? I'm guessing the former. My baked goods always come out better with fresh baking powder. I use this original recipe (with only 1 TB sugar) for sandwich bread often. Just try again. I think that, maybe, it's being with someone who wants the same thing that you want at that moment. Coziness, tea, snacks, a blanket, and a creative atmosphere in a lovely vintage home is what you both cherished. It's conducive to work and kinship. I agree totally. I also agree that perhaps a beer and some boxed cheese crackers are also appropriate for someone who isn't used to a proper tea, right? My very best friend introduced me to canned oysters with saltines and hot sauce the other day and that was probably the most endearing and interesting 'tea' I'd ever had. We proceeded to drink sweet tea vodka with club soda and watch reality television. It was totally perfect and made me feel at home, even though I never do those things in my own home. It's camaraderie distilled with nuance introduced as flavor. OK, i'm rambling. Tea Time: The Quickest Way To Make a Guest Feel Welcome |
