I have the Apple TIme Capsule - which also allows for a guest network. I also have an iHome alarm clock dock in the guest room that works with the iPad and iPhone. Haven't added a TV in the guest room yet, but have decided it will be a Wifi one plugged into our Netflix and Hulu Plus accounts.

Finally, I setup their own code on the front door. Tada! No key necessary.
Next project is to program a "Goodnight" button in the living room, which will arm/lock/turn off all the lights if they stay up later than we do.

I also have the BJURSTA and I love it! How oh how did this not make AT's list? We all love design (which is part of why we're reading AT in the first place) but sometimes they take out the practical ones. Like did you know Crate & Barrel has a table very similar to BJURSTA?

The accent lighting looks amazing! I'm not too fond of the surround sound speakers either, but to each their own. @caseyinto - A Logitech Harmony 900 will solve this. It has an RF system that duplicates your IR commands so all of your equipment can be behind closed doors.

This IS a Tech blog. There are all sorts of products meant to challenge you with virtual workout buddies while you're outside too. (See Nike+). They have races, tag, and even cheer you on if your friends comment on your activity post on Facebook. So while this post focused on Indoor sports, you can still have a Virtual Workout buddy with outdoor sports too. I live in a mild climate, but not everybody has that option this time of year.

This is an article about how to mount your TV over the fireplace tastefully. However, all of the responses are "I would never do this - it's ugly."

WOW? Does nobody know how to do electrical wiring? I think that big bulky box looks dumb, you might as well have the same USB power adapter you were buying this to avoid in the first place. I would much rather pay $10 more for the other one and swap out my standard receptacle. Cleaner and looks nicer. I guess I am a minimalist in that regard.

I like LoseIt for iOS. It has the barcode scanner too. It also integrates with Withings for those of us who have the Withings Wi Fi weight scale.

We opted out of Direct TV and got Dish instead - the HD-DVR with Slingbox. I can't say enough about this little device. We're not home a lot, so whenever my fiancé has some spare time, he pulls out his iPad and streams live or DVR'd content to his iPad.

Droid doesn't have the exclusive on Christmas Tree lighting. I can light up my Christmas tree from my iPhone - whether I'm home or not. It's called Z-wave.
