Wonderful moments with cardboard in my childhood include my mom finding a fridge box on her morning walk and bringing it home so we could build a house out of it.

My neighborhood has a Holiday House Tour every year. It is a great way to see the interiors of some of the best home in my historical neighborhood as well as meet some of the neighbors.

I have the one in the picture. It's really great. I'm really not sure who would see it anyway. We keep between the sheet and the bedspread.

The multi-pant hangers (2) are a pain. They are difficult to use and break easily. Get a whole bunch of the slim hangers (similar to 6) from Container Store instead. Totally worth it.

I used to look at things like that as me being lazy, but have you ever thought that maybe where you are currently storing those items just might not be the right place? Think about it for a moment. What makes more sense: having to walk over to the closet (in my case this is in another room from the exterior door we usually use) or having a place right inside the door? If space permits, make a landing pad. I re purposed an old toy box for a bench/storage area, put a few hooks in the wall for coats and bags and put a decorative plate for keys and pocket junk on top of the curio that is next to the bench.

We had a bird fly down the heater exhaust and into the heater. Luckily it wasn't winter so the heater wasn't on. It then managed to get out of the heater vents and fly into several walls, leaving streaks of blood as it went, since it had been hurt while inside the heater. I freaked out and of course, my husband was at work. I got a friend's husband to come over and he trapped the bird and let it go outside. It was flying a little funny, but went and perched on a nearby roof, licking its wounds.

My mother did this the summer I was six or seven. It was a whole family event, especially raising the walls. We call it the little house and it has always been this nice retreat in their backyard. It's even survived a tornado when most of the rest of the yard didn't.

My MIL used to make my siblings-in-law spend the whole day before they left on vacation cleaning the house. I used to think she was crazy to do this right before a period of relaxation, then I came home from vacation to a messy house and realized the whole point. Now I too spend a day cleaning before going out of town.

My friends laugh at me for my tech graveyard, until it comes in handy. Which is why I think I've never gone through all of it. Who knows when I might need a circa-2004 Sprint cell phone (I'm not on Sprint anymore) or a 128MB flash drive. After all, that flash drive was worth $50 once!

I agree with everyone else about the vines. They are actually very destructive. I've seen them pull bricks loose from walls over time.

A few storage containers, probably some lost clothing and usually a cat or two. Our younger cat has actually torn a hole through the cotton on the bottom of the box spring and crawls around under there. One weekend soon he's going to find his little hide-away closed back up.

Turn it into a coffee table when not in use. Some attractive fabric and (depending on the lid style) a piece of plywood will work just fine.
