Choreg is one of my favorite things to eat. If you can get your hands on some mahleb, I highly recommend giving the recipe a try.

I have four binders in my cookbook cabinet, one for each season of the year. Inside, I store the recipes I’ve torn out of magazines, newspapers and similar under tabs labeled by month. It might be the most organized aspect of my life. I don't use plastic sleeves though...

This is going to sound crazy, but my dad turned an old Dutch oven into a wind chime/gong. He drilled a hole in the bottom (now the top of the chime) so he could hang it as well as attach a clapper and a weight to catch the wind. The sound it makes is incredible...

I'm super excited about my CSA. Last year was definitely a fun challenge -- I mean, what DO you do with two monster kohlrabis?

During the course of last year's CSA, I blogged each week about what I received in my box and what I made with some of the contents; here's a link to those posts for some ideas, Emsy: http://10thirty.wordpress.com/index.php?s=csa

This year I'm hoping to be more adventurous with my produce, and I'm thinking about canning/pickling too, two things I've never done. I'm also determined to conquer the kohlrabi... So basically, I can't wait!

You can enter your location and it should give you results based on that...

My CSA in Boston started yesterday. We just got a small box -- two heads of lettuce, spinach, turnips and parsnips. Our farm told us that once the weather here starts getting warmer, our weekly produce won't even FIT in the box! I can't wait to try new recipes each week, especially for the vegetables I've never used in my kitchen before.

Pictures and a bit more info on my blog: http://10thirty.wordpress.com/2008/06/03/csa-week-one/

I received a Global chef's knife as a present a year or two ago, and I am still madly and desperately in love with it. If they weren't almost prohibitively expensive, I'd probably own the whole set, including the steak knives. I use my Global all the time -- it is so beautifully balanced, and very nice to look at too. Prior to the Global I had used miscellaneous Henckels, which are also quite nice but I think I've become a Global user for life.

Repeating what most have said already... LOVE the color choices, but why would you hang your bike, with its dirty wheels, over where you cook and eat?? I'm more concerned about whether or not it is sanitary, than if your wheels will get warm.

Aside from that, can I come over?

I love your yellow sofa and patterned chair -- mostly because I don't have the courage to pull off such bold choices. Good for you!

I have to say, I've got the same sofa from DWR and I love it. We have it in the study/guest room, and nine times out of ten, I fall asleep on it while reading. It opens up into a bed slightly smaller than a king and is super comfortable.

Not my style, but there's definitely a cohesive look to the place, which in itself is quite admirable.

UES1818, I've seen that rug at cb2 -- don't know if it's still available in powder blue though...

JulesDC, I have the same West Elm daybed covered in even more pillows, which I spent days sewing. Kyle is right -- with its twin-sized mattress, it's definitely a case of "the more pillows, the better." Not to mention you can make a really comfy little nest.
