I love the red chair, I'd have to see the other one close up to decide if it wasn't trash. We've had the same problem shopping for chairs for our living room, the modern chairs just aren't comfortable enough.

I'd only paint the wood on the red one if it were truly damaged. If not refinish it to show off the wood and reupholster it in a beautiful woolen fabric to accent the lines.
Enough with the white paint and trendy 60's inspired fabric. It's been done over and over. It doesn't look new or exciting anymore.

Please share what you decide to do with it. Add me to the list of people interested in the red chairs.

I love Isaac's work. There are two of his benches at the San Francisco Museum of Craft Design. They aren't the pod benches but are pretty cool as well.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who co-habitates with spiders. I grew up on a beach and it was the spiders that helped keep down the mosquitoes. Each time I find one we have a chat about house rules, they stay on their side and I don't kill them. Easy and very rarely do they break the rules. My son finds it funny that I talk to the spiders.

Roaches on the other hand are grounds for burning the house down and moving. Yuck!

I want comfortable handles, I hate the grooved handles on pots and pans like All-clad. Love the pans but I hate the feeling of holding the handle, especially as they get heavier when they are full.

No need for the pasta cooker, never use it for that.

If we are talking an entire set it would be nice to have a mix of metal and non-stick. I don't want everything non-stick but a nice omelet pan is a great piece that we use for a lot of things.

What a horrible waste. This piece went from beautiful, timeless details to something blah and trendy. And for stripping it back, not only is it 10x more work than painting but you also run the risk of damaging the finish. What a shame, no appreciation.

It isn't my style of choice but I'd rather sell a piece like this and buy something that is than destroy it.

I actually like the image. I find it intriguing, it makes you want to dig some more. I can't wait to renovate our house more to see what we find. So far nothing yet, other than bad handyman work.

I love a closed kitchen. There is nothing worse than being distracted at the dining room table by what is going on in the kitchen. I clean as we go but since I either plate or platter everything before it goes out there still are dishes waiting to be done. I also like to whisk away empty wine bottles, etc from the table as they are emptied. This way I can hide away anything that takes away from the meal.

I love having people in my kitchen with me. Most of my friends like to cook as well, so we share the time. I get one chopping, one plating and one pouring and we all love it.

Of the two choices, I really love the first one. The color and texture are really inviting and will definitely make people want to touch/sit on it. I also think it will add some real interest to the simplicity of the sofa.

You didn't say if you had cats though. Tapestry fabrics like this are a real treat to feline claws? Always a concern at our house so I thought I'd bring it up.

This will put me in the minority but knotty pine that is well oiled and cared for not only adds warmth to a room but can add light from it's beautiful glow. I grew up in a beach house who's living room was paneled in knotty pine and in the morning it was like sitting in sunshine.

Yeah new knotty pine is cheap to buy but it takes years for the pine to develop that deap gold color. With all the crappy mid century repeats it is a shame to lose something that has so much real potential.

I love these contests. Sara's work is beautifully done and a real tribute to a contemporary decor.

I would love to host a small fundraiser dinner for a medical center. It's focus is on serving children from birth to 18 who's family are either impoverished or are involved in the foster care system.

Each and every baby born into their services is given a handmade baby blanket. While it may not seem like a lot, it very well may be the warmest blanket the baby has. There are other programs to address medical, educational, social and psychological needs.

We donate funds and blankets as we can but it would be nice to do something a little bit more. I'll be doing the party but would love new ideas from these books and the help in planning.

These would be great for working in my new garden. Having moved from a downtown flat to a house I'm just now gathering up much needed tools.

I think that doing the dishes creates a sense of accomplishment. I hated this job as a kid and couldn't understand how people said it was relaxing but now I totally get it.

I found this the first time when I was in Niagra Falls. It was great. I have a hard time finding it in San Francisco. It is definitely a unique flavor that I love with desserts.

My favorite weekend get away is curled up at home with my partner and our son, eating fresh cinnamon rolls watching movies in our pajamas. It isn't often that we have the luxury of all of us having an entire weekend free.

If we leave the city we love to head upto Bodega Bay where we rent a house and spend the weekend exploring: flying kites at the beach, collecting sea shells along the shore, watching quail as they come up on our deck in the evening and falling asleep to the sound of crickets. The wonderful excited look my son gets as he discovers something new reminds me of the beauty and amazement all around us.

I like them both but since I could only vote for one it was caramel. When I was a kid we lived in front of a caramel apple factor and my mom had keys to it so we could have all we want. They bring back so many good memories!

*snif* *tear* I thought I was the only one who did this. Now I see that there are many others who keep a handy stock of cinnamon/sugar. Yeah!

We have a set of all purpose cut crystal goblets that we use for red and white (although we mostly drink red). About 2 dozen champagne glasses because who likes to celebrate alone. We use these at least once a week. We really like to celebrate. LOL

I have a set of cheap sherry glasses that I don't like but I haven't found anything to replace them with yet.

I used Steve's Upholstery on 17th Street to redo a chair that was a family heirloom. We bought the fabric and they picked it and the chair up at our house. Delivered it in a few weeks.
The price was fair, about the price of a new chair or less.
