I remember always setting a timer on the calender on my phone. That way at two in the morning, it would ring, and "Clayton Motrin" would come up. Then it would ring at four am, and "Jocelyn Tylenol" would pop up. That was the only way I could get through those nights. Good luck!

We always used shoe polish. As long as it wasn't a large ding, it worked for the most part.

Totally useless. However, with my husband, it would cut back on the amount of sweeping in our kitchen.

So...it's nothing like skulls or cows or marijuana prints, but...my husband's a chef. And he likes the Iowa Hawkeyes. And that's what he gets. For birthdays, Christmas, Father's Day, even EASTER. His mom's fall back present is always something that has to do with cooking. My complaint is that, since he cooks for a living, he's kind of anal about the tools he uses. So when she buys him knives, pots and pans, and other cooking utensils, they just sit and collect dust. He already has eveything he needs, and it's good quality. Plus, like I said, he's REALLY picky about the tools he uses. One time, she gave him a Hawkeyes grill set, complete with branding iron. It even had the most offensive black and gold apron and toque.

Is it permenant? This would be perfect for our small bathroom window, but I'm not sure how our landlord would feel about it if it was there forever.

A bread maker also requires time and ingredients; our weekly loaf of bread usually only costs $1.50, which is way cheaper than the breadmaker idea.

We put the stocking holders that are intended for mantels on top of our expedit bookshelf, then hang our stockings from those. They're still visible, and our two-year old can't reach them to pull them down.

We have a washer and dryer that hide behind bifold doors in our dining room when we have guests, but on a daily basis they're open and our table serves as a laundry folding station.

It's interesting that they say to stay away from literary characters, but that soap opera stars "remain safe." And I agree pyjammy...these names are much better than the silly made-up ones.

I have a copy of Lucifer's Hammer that is basically all loose pages. Needless to say, no book gets the cut in our house, unless our daughter happened to throw it into the toilet or something.

I don't think that the floating floors have to be installed on a perfectly smooth surface; we've used them in condos before, and as long as the surface is relatively smooth and level, they should be fine.
