We have a sage-green cotton twill upholstered sofa. The cushion covers have been through the wash at least a dozen times and held up just fine. Our three year old is allowed to have dry snacks (cheerios, raisins, etc) and drinks in sippy cups on the couch, and all other foods get eaten at the table.

Beautiful, cheery room! Where did you get the white picture rails? I'm so bummed that IKEA has discontinued the medium and short Ribba picture rails in white and I'm looking for an alternative in Toronto. My Room: Cameron Toronto | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

Exactly, mschatelaine. Not only is it too reclined for nursing, but it's hard to get out of it with a sleeping baby in your arms. And the chair is quite narrow, so there isn't much room to nurse a no-longer-newborn comfortably without bopping him on the head (I stopped using a nursing pillow after a few weeks). Actually, we have a set of the bambu flatware for our toddler and they work great! The spoon isn't very deep, true, but since our kid isn't very good with dribbly foods like soup yet, it doesn't matter. For yogurt and other spoonable foods, it's perfect. And the fork tines are sharp enough for food. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Etsy Scavenger: Eco-Friendly Toddler Flatware Set |
