What a smart way to think about our homes. I'm guilty of projecting my own discontent onto my house- maybe I should treat it the way I would like to be treated! One Minute Tip: How to Fall in Love with Your Apartment Apartment Therapy Videos |

I just read somewhere that having a light come on will interrupt the melatonin production which will help you wake up. I think it really helps me, anyway. 10 Tips for Making Winter Wake-Ups Easier |

Gorgeous! It must be such a joy now to have room for everything. I love the mirrored back splash- I think that is the most clever idea ever! Before & After: Little Kitchen, Big Style The Sweeten |

I love this article. I always have believed that homes should serve us rather than us serving our home. But in reading this article, I can see that I have not been true to the concept! Time for me to re-assess what I'm doing with my space AND my time. Thank you! Using Your Home to Reach Your Dreams |

Go "ILOVESUSHI"! I love pretty things and if I think it's pretty only because I've seen it a few hundred times on Pinterest, whatever! Lots of things are interesting, pretty, different. Getting to try them out and see how you like living with them is where all the fun is. It's no different now than in the 70's when I grew up with macrame and owls and shag except that now we can enjoy it and deride it simultaneously! Ahh, good times! Propping: How Much Is Too Much? Oh my gosh! I hate that people get so ridiculous about books. Do you really hold sacred an algebra book from the 1930's? Or and electrician's textbook from the 50's? The world is full of old books! They don't have to be revered- they can be used by the people that bought them for what they want. Sorry- I just get so upset about the "holier-than-thou" attitude that I see in these comments. I like the coffee table- I think it looks interesting and it makes me want to look at it more which is something that no conventional coffee table makes me want to do. Another (is this 10 or 15?) thing to consider is the way the room is used. Private, intimate rooms can take bold colors. Public rooms are the rooms you usually photograph friends and family in. Not everyone looks good in Chartreuse! Also, every time you look at the photos, you will be overwhelmed by the backdrop. Learned that one the hard way when I had a Caribbean green on my family room walls- my husband called it "Hulk Juice" green! 4 Things To Consider When Picking A Wall Color |

Lovely transformation! The blue feels so fresh and happy. I love the wing chair, but it looks like it sent to time out. Can't it please come and join the couch? It promises to play nice! The copper chairs- wow! Beautiful. Very nice all around! Before & After: Joanne's Warm to Cool Living Room Transformation |

My goodness, so much strong opinion! It may be a little cliche, but it is bright and fresh. The layers particular to this new homeowner (I assume she has inherited the home) will come in time and create a warm, personal space. It's just a baby room now, but it will get there!
