I have a Tivoli PAL radio and mainly just plug in my iPhone and listen to podcasts, MOG, or a Umano (which is news that is read out loud..I mainly listen to tech related news). I don't consider shows or music I choose to be noise pollution.

Would like to eventually get a small Jawbone Bluetooth box, but haven't gotten around to it.

If you are importing for archival purposes, I would use one of the lossless compressed formats (ALAC (apple lossless), FLAC (free lossless audio format), WMA Lossless (Windows Media). Which one you chose will depend on what you want to play them on.

MP3s and most lossy formats at 256kbps and above are usually acceptable with most music, but I wouldn't archive in mp3.

The printer could easily be put in a closet or somewhere else out of the way. With wireless printers, you just need access to an outlet.

I definitely don't see tech as an eyesore. I could look at techy workspace setups for hours. I can see that Irene has made this office with that in mind, though. The laptop is the only tech I see and it would be easy to close and put away.

I use the bottom shelves of a 4x4 and 2x4 Expedit units. They work great for me. As was mentioned, if I was going to fill up all the shelves with albums, I would reinforce the back.

I am perfectly happy having different tools for different jobs. I love my iPad, but it won't replace my laptop or desktop any time soon.

I am not surprised that they didn't use my setup in this post. :)

Macs can be booted into Windows with very little effort. So, if you see my MBP, you are actually looking at computer that runs OSX and Windows.

You can get a Dayon T-amp for around $27 dollars. It doesn't have the built in plug in for the Aiport Express, though. Not sure I like the hump it creates with this device anyway.
