Sorry to say, but I really can't wait until this cowhide fad dies.

Hey, neighbors! The bones of our building are unmistakeably recognizable.

Love what you've done with the space. The furniture choices are both eclectic and perfect.

Here's my unit, from the Small Cool contest.

Hopefully I'll see you around sometime!

I have to say, it looks like a great raw space that the occupant has really done nothing remarkable with. Especially if, as I suspect, the tall mirror is built-in rather than an addition.

isn't this why marble isn't recommended for kitchens?

count me amongst those who just avoid using a bathmat altogether. the concept is pretty gross to me. anyone else remember the simpsons episode where lisa remarked that marge's heart is like their bathmat, absorbing everything that touches it? exactly. it's the same issue i have with people who don't squeeze out their kitchen sponges after use... ewwwwww.

most bathroom floors are designed to get wet, and then they dry off.

i find it curious that one has to do research online to find out whether one can apply paint to an object.

Man, I just could *not* wake up facing that comma splice every day.

curious... that first photo you've selected looks somewhat interesting to me and decidedly playful, but most definitely UNsophisticated! i see what you mean in the rest of the photos, though.

sure looks a lot like the utility tables my parents used to get for their business at officemax for about $24.

It is hard for me to imagine ever preferring any kind of brick painted over unpainted. I think an unwanted brick surface should be covered with drywall. Better yet, move out and let somebody who appreciates the brick get a chance!

If I have to move to place that doesn't have exposed brick, I'm seriously thinking about installing a brick facade. But it just won't feel the same.

Thanks, everyone! I really love my little loft apartment, so it gladdens my heart that others like it also. Digital pianos are such a marvelous invention, since they take up less space and are easy to move, never need tuning, and with headphones on don't bother the neighbors in the middle of the night.

To answer some questions, I made the floorplan using http://www.floorplanner.com. The plants are indeed in Woolly pcokets, which have been featured before on AT and are very easy to use. I feel like it does make that wall look a bit cluttered (especially in that photo), but it's worth it to have living green things in my space. The piece of music on the wall behind the bed is from the first page of the original manuscript of J.S. Bach's solo cello suite #5 in C minor, which I can't recommend highly enough. I made the image using Rasterbator (http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/). I also have various prints on display from Stravinsky's sketch book for the Rite of Spring; I do love to surround myself with music.

Thanks again for the comments! Great to see so many interesting entries this year.

Oops, I guess we were both wrong in interpreting this post as announcing the last batch of entries! When it said "Entries Posted on 4/19" I assumed it meant *all* the entries *submitted* on 4/19. The contest FAQ actually says they may post entries through 4/23.

Commence finger-crossing!

Hmm... Honestly, I'm kind of confused about why my entry didn't appear. Was there any info posted about the criteria the AT editors used to select the entries? I thought I did a pretty great job! And there are only 21 total entries in the teeny-tiny category. Maybe submitting on the last day was a mistake.

i love that glass-topped side table.

i don't get why so many people leave their artwork leaning against the wall! such a conscious style choice that i just don't get.

I love this so much. Excellent use of the space, and wonderful color choices that create a variety of character between the rooms without losing cohesiveness. Just great.
