Actually, in Brooklyn there's Makeville Studios (www.makeville.com) in Park Slope and 3rd Ward (www.3rdward.com) in Williamsburg that woodworking studios open to anyone. You might need to take a safety class before doing wood working stuff there... but they're great spaces.

"Thankfully strong, irritating cleaners are no longer the only cleaning supply option."

I disagree. Cleaning is always irritating.

In our house, I make most of the decorating decisions, but my husband has "veto power." Generally, he either likes something, doesn't care, or hates it. If he hates it, he can say no with no drama or arguments. This way he doesn't have to live with anything he hates and he doesn't have to help with decor decisions he doesn't care about.

I always go during the week, preferably early. And, if I have to bring my husband, let him spend at least half of the trip in the cafeteria with some swedish meatballs. Also, please note that there is a very nice irish pub one block away from the ikea in Brooklyn. VERY CONVENIENT!

In the video, they mention that it is going to be implemented in magazines so that if you see an article or advertisement for something that appeals to you, you can purchase it. I think that is very interesting and much more useful then for groceries, especially since Fresh Direct already has an iphone app...

I went digital and got rid of about 90% of my books because i could get them as pdf's or epub's. I kept my signed books, some really old ones that might be worth something, a few Jules Verne, and a bunch of rpg books. I have two 4'x3' book shelves and will not let my book collection grow larger then that.
