I never comment but I just had to add my feedback. I love our waterlox sealed butcher block tops but... If you are high maintenance then maybe consider something else. We sat a cast iron skillet on our top and left it overnight- it left a big black ring that now has to be sanded out. We also have a few places where red wine has left rings that won't come out. This is after 6 coats of waterlox. We are not super diligent but know that you kind of need to be. We're 4 years in and we need to totally re sand them down and start again. Homeless population? For $450 a sq ft? That's more expensive than high end homes. They are cute and awesome but you really have to want to have a house made from salvaged materials to pay that much for it. It's a great idea and she has an awesome talent but this isn't a solution for the rest of us. I second DWF although I am not sure how you all fit in your space. ;) I am on my second st bernard. Both rescues, both adults when we got them and they are the BEST ever. They are laaaaaaaazy dogs and just want to hang out. Sit in your lap, lay on your couch, Maybe sniff the yard, maybe walk around the block. That's it. They're great for small spaces. Did you guys ever see that mythbusters episode? They tested the theory that uhem "matter" is found on toothbrushes from being misted from toilets. Turns "matter" is on toothbrushes but not from toilet spray but from our hands and mouths. EWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! Not sure if you feel better or worse. So leave your toothbrush in the bathroom.
