Can anybody help me find an inexpensive alternative for those butterfly chairs from Urban Outfitters (less tan $200 per chair)?

I like the nailhead idea most. I am looking for a new couch and the ones with details like that are so much more expensive so maybe ill just get a simple couch and add the nailhead details myself! But then again it seems like a lot of nailheads lol

doing laundry sucks.
if i had a washer/drying in my apartment i'd probably wash as i go, but because I have to haul all my dirty stuff downstairs I like to do laundry 4:40 pm on weekdays, once a month. Do it all at once, nobody's there because the old ladies are done w/ laundry and already upstairs making dinner, and the young residents are not back from work yet, so I get to use multiple machines at once.

as soon as I saw the Macbooks I instantly thought: hipsters. They'll go garbage picking to decorate their houses but spend $1200 on a laptop and then go to a coffee shop and sip on a $2 coffee for 4 hours mooching off the free wifi. LOL
I know this isn't the case but it sooooo could be.

Even if I wanted to wear PJs all day I still have to walk my dogs 3 times a day so I rather just put on jeans + top on first thing in the morning. No shoes at home tho. It makes me feel like I'm leaving dirt all around the house.
I've worked from home the past 2 years, same with my bf. he wears sweatpants and old tshirts. Doesn't affect his work. If I need to go to a meeting that's when I wear my business casual clothes and shoes. Skype calls don't happen often but if they do I will fix my hair and make up and wear nicer top. Nobody sees below anyway.

Cute kitchen, nice taste, but I'd take a good look at those floors and the paint job around the built in cabinet... Sorry, I'd prefer that cleaner. Theres a fine line between vintage and falling apart I guess.

So glad you asked this question cause I was wondering the same for me and my bf! My dilemma is a little different though, I have an electric stove/oven so I'm not sure how that would work cooking a whole turkey... Anyone ever made one in an electric oven??

I've been wanting to go to Paris since I remember my trip there as a 12year old who had no clue where she was going... I can't even imagine looking at my phone while being there, or on any trip, really. The people who experience the best of things find those things alone, don't let anyone charge you $4 to tell you where you have to go eat. Ever. Just go and try whatever seems like something you'd enjoy.
Can't wait to one day go, and maybe stay there forever... <3

Definitely agree with @ngnerd. You have safety factors to consider. I live in Edgewater right now, right on the beach basically. But there's gangs shooting each other every time it's warm outside, you can't walk your dogs in the park cause they're just sitting there on benches smoking and drinking, there's maybe two places to eat within walking distance, you can't park your car on the street because it'll get broken into, and if u want indoor parking it's at least $120per month. Some neighborhoods require street parking permit.

I've been looking for an apartment in Lincoln Park for 5 months, and haven't found anything that wasn't a "courtyard" (I am NOT walking across the street to do my laundry, hell no) when I did see a nice place the landlord wouldn't allow dogs OR requested pet rent (which is very popular for some stupid reason), usually $35 per dog per month. I have 4small dogs. Impossible to find a place that would accept them.
Average apartments: Carpets everywhere, never a nicer kitchen, bathrooms always disgusting. You will pay at least 1500 for a NICER looking 1br in Lincoln Park, but no dogs. Washer/dryer is barely ever in the unit. You'll basically pay more for nicer neighbors, more restaurants and less depressing parks.

PS. AP should post about how hard it is to find dog friendly apartments in Chicago.

TV, especially 50" TV, should not hang over the fireplace. EVER. It looks disgusting, and is not comfortable to watch.

Anyway, I agree with the first post. having dinner by the fireplace sounds perfect to me.
