Very interesting. We have 2 cats, but one goes high and the other low. One only likes to either sit under the desk by my feet or in my lap while I work. The other cat is attracted to the heat from the fans and the window since our monitors face them. She likes to hide behide my dh's monstor cpu, my iMac or does an infamous cat walk across the desk from time to time. I'm pretty good about cleaning cause I hate desk and fur *eek*. FYI old t-shirt transitioned into rags work great by the way!

Maybe because I've always been raised around older people but I always offer sambuca garnished with a few coffee beans. I'll do coffee is requested but sambuca is definitely on the menu.

I have to have something to keep my focused while working out. I have no clue as to why people feel the news is a great thing to watch will working out. CNN would not be my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice to watch will burning calories. I can watch a sitcom or something, but otherwise I'm all about my ipod. I have tons of music and movies - sometimes I watch Sex and the City while on the treadmill. I believe it's more about what will motivate you more.

Really? It's on 10' so I can't picture it looking 'ridiculous'.

I suggest maybe getting some decals - like the feet or rubber duckies. I would think that could create a flow and make the space between the curtain and floor look a little smaller. The feet could be really cute if your putting them right in front of the bath mat.

I think it's a cheaper alternative than investing in a 2nd rod and ensuring that your curtains are of a certain length.

Let's face it standard by the store doesn't mean standard in our home.

First we don't have the whole picture - this is just a peek through a window. My first thought was she's hoarding but then I had to read it again - she thinks these things have sentimental value or there's good reason for keeping things. For instance the car - it could've been her first, maybe the car has been paid off, what if someone special gave her that car that isn't here anymore? It's been 10 years and he's still condones what she's doing.

I think the suggestions thus far are valid and typical, but still something just doesn't sit right with me on this. I read frustration and anger, like after a big fight, but I don't see anything about previous attempts to fix the problem - sit down talk, family intervention, compromise... this is puzzling.

palindrome - that's part of the VIKA system at IKEA. It's not discontinued at all, it's still on the website. You have to go to workspace and click on the table top & legs catergory. I'm actually thinking about getting the same desk myself.
