I received an Aerogarden for a xmas present, and have had it a little over a year. Holy crap, I love this thing. I've been doing various herbs in it. There's nothing better than fresh basil! It pretty much runs itself, just keep water in it and drop a nutrient tablet (comes with the seed kits) in when the light blinks and the plants go nuts.

I'd love one of these! I'm working on honing my summer BBQ skills and I can never tell when the meat is throughly cooked.

About a year ago I enlisted the help of my mother and we laid down peel and stick tiles in my bathroom over some awful yellowing vinyl flooring from what we could guess was the 70's. It was questionable what was under that flooring and if we wanted to risk getting ourselves into a potential disaster since my place is a rental, so we installed the tiles directly over it. We picked an imitation slate that coordinates with the grey in the shower tile's decorative trim.

It was a fairly easy install, the biggest pain would be measuring and cutting the tiles to fit a few odd little nooks. I'm happy with how it turned out, but I've noticed over time (maybe due to the humidity levels?) that they're subtlly shifting on one section of the floor that isn't perfectly level, leaving gaps between them. I'm considering filling the gaps with something like a silicone caulking to keep the dirt and grime from falling between them, which could potentially loosen them if it works it's way underneath.

Overall it's not a bad option if you go into it knowing it's not a longterm solution. It's a good quickfix to make a rental unit livable or until you're able to afford the expensive floor install you really want.

I just made the sour cream, lemon and herb recipe and it came out great! It's a nice variation from the traditional deviled egg.

I can't give a good recommendation for Tiger Direct due to a major issue that required several months worth of phone calls and emails that went nowhere. I placed an order for a new laptop and specifically checked to make sure it was listed as new as they also sell refurbished goods. What I received was a refurbished laptop, and they charged me the same price as the brand new one. What was included with my order (and not much else!) was a toll-free number that no one answers. I hunted down another support phone number that lead me to tech support whom in turn referred me to yet another number that I couldn't get a live person on. I also tried numerous emails to no avail. After three months of this nightmare I finally came to the conclusion that I wasn't getting a new laptop, nor a refund or any type of resolution, so I took the option of filing a chargeback dispute through my creditcard company. I'm happy to say I won that dispute, my card company refunded me the purchase price, and Tiger Direct can shove it. :)

About a year ago I switched my dogs over from a canned dogfood to a raw dehydrated mix from The Honest Kitchen - www.thehonestkitchen.com (no affiliation) because I was disappointed with the ingredients in even the "premium" quality canned foods. It's much more convenient than the traditional BARF raw-feeding method that requires frozen storage space and a lot of prep time. I just mix it with hot water to rehydrate it and add in additional meat (usually chicken). I make a couple of days' worth of feedings at one time and just store it in the fridge. Even my picky eaters like it, and with the mix of this and dry kibble, they're quite healthy and it's one less thing I have to worry about.
