My boyfriend loves them in his smoothies.

The boyfriend does more work than I do, but we both contribute. We live in Florida in a loft with a couple balconies. All of our plants are in containers. Our selection is as follows: two types of basil, parsley, three types of thyme, tarragon, chives, rosemary, spearmint, a few varieties of tomatoes, bell peppers, cayenne peppers, okra, butter crunch lettuce, and blueberries (newly added!). These all get full sun.

On the other balcony that gets partial sun, we have a few potted trees: kumquat, limequat, and Meyer lemon. They're all little babies, but the kumquats and limequats are already starting to produce fruit!

None of these plants require TOO much attention, really. Water once or twice a week. Fertilize once a month. We use fish and seaweed fertilizers. I'm pretty sure they're magic. Everything is looking good!

I got really lucky with my place. It's a quirky 550 sq ft studio (huge closet, decent bathroom, hw floors) on top of a 3-car detached garage. The property was built in 1922 and it's two houses in from Bayshore Blvd. in Historic Hyde Park. Also, my landlords are the bomb. :)

@Loora: Boy, do I wish I ran into you when I studied abroad in Paris! I speak enough French to get by, but there were a few times I had to ask someone if they spoke English (in French, of course). It seems like everyone I asked was offended, and really didn't want to help me out. :(

How far in advance can you make this before it gets TOO soggy?

I have an awesome arrangement with my next-door neighbor/best friend... We buy a lot of long-lasting/frozen/non-perishable items from BJ's Wholesale in bulk and split them... toilet paper, paper towels, granola bars, chicken tenderloins, string cheese, etc... it's a pretty great system. :)

I have VERRRRRY similar colored floors in my new house. I've been living with primer colored walls in the great room for two months because I have no idea what to do with them. I think I like the idea of the antiqued white. I will be pulling paint chips this week!
