The amount of vitamin D added to milk is miniscule compared to what is now believed to be needed. A lot of doctors advise 1,000 to 2,000 per day. Mine was so deficient last August that I was put on 6,000 iu a day for 4 months. The amount in 3 glasses of milk: 300 iu. And saying "dairy" has vitamin d is misleading. It's added, not natural, and mainly to milk and sometimes yogurt. It's not found in cheese. Winter Mood Lifters: 7 Foods Thought To Boost Energy & Make You Feel Perkier |

I'm glad I'm not the only one with multiple sets of measuring spoons. (And measuring cups, and cutting boards, and rubber spatulas, and wooden spoons... It seems you can never have enough.) I had one of these sets and I tossed it. I can clear the table and find space for 3 cooling racks - the bigger problem turns out to be a space to store them. These racks are very bulky and take up more space than normal racks. And they wobble (I'm a clutz and dreaded flying cookies every time I used them). And I couldn't fit as many cookies on them because you have to leave space to be able to set the next rack on top of it. I am, however, interested to try the Linden Sweden Baker's 4-Tier Adjustable Metal Cooling Rack, which ATK said was very stable. 3-Tier Stackable Cooling Rack from World Market Daily Find |

I got one of these after I chewed up a 1/4 cup measuring cup when I turned on the disposal with it inside. Works great. (Prior to the Disposal Genie, I also chewed up at least one spoon.) Garbage Disposal Nightmares: When Objects Get Stuck |

If you look at the dried sweetened cranberries (Craisins, which, by the way are sweetened by being soaked in fruit juice) you will see that they are not whole, but are sliced in half. I find unsweetened dried cranberries at the food co-op here in my area. http://www.hwfc.com for anyone in the Albany, NY area. They are sold in the bulk foods area there. In upstate NY, you'll notice some people use their garages as living space. They've installed screens across the door space, and just raise the garage door to open up to the outside. (Just Google "garage door screen panels" to see examples.) With our bugs and humidity, it's probably a comfortable environment, if not exactly aesthetic (if the garage interior hasn't been upgraded).
