@m@thew: do you mean the Geometric Tile by Daniel Ogassian for Ann Sacks? although, yeah, it can be kind of hard to find things on this site sometimes. (big ups from back in the day, though; it's like a thousand times better.)
that is one fugly marble sink.
i'm still waiting for some kindhearted company with a guilt complex for not doing enough to help those poor katrina victims to come remodel my tiny bathroom.
: )

@chartreuse, you make a good point, but ... paying $800 for the new unit and another god-knows-how-much to have a tankless installed isn't in my cards right now. (kindly refrain from a condescending attitude about stuff like that, m'kay?)

my hot water heater is outside in a small metal shed, which is de rigueur for older houses in new orleans. i'd LOVE to get it inside, but that probably won't happen anytime soon.

Daybeds, Futons & Sleeper Sofas: 12 Resources for Small Space Sleeping Weekend Shoppers Guide

crap. i thought this was going to save the day. i have a TON of company coming at the end of the month, and although i already own a twilight sleeper (craigslist purchase) and the now discontinued ikea lessebo, along with a sectional in the living room, i'm going to be one twin bed short. i've been looking for something more along the lines of this sleeper chair, but for an adult (dammit!), not a small child. i need something compact & lightweight ... like those groovy sleeper poufs y'all featured a few years back (and which are, of course, discontinued). cheap (money-wise, not quality wise) would be good, too. help?

Honestly? The right-sized cardboard box from your new food processor or whatever would work just as well as a plastic bin. It just needs to be the right height/width to corral a few things so you don't have to go digging through the drawer.

Interesting. I wonder what value blanching adds, and if 2 hours is really necessary. Also, what do you do with the olive oil that's left over? I wouldn't be able to bring myself to throw it out.

i became rather obsessed with this after finding a recipe for olive artichoke bread at circle b.

my own concoction--and the one that gets the most raves--is the bread with sausage (fried & drained BEFORE adding to bread dough/batter), jalapenos, and cheddar cheese. OMG is that good.

ok. borked the html, so lemme try again:

ahem. you don't need to hit the stud, and you don't need to spend a ton of money. i read about the Moen SecureMount in this old house or family handyman or some place like that. gets GREAT reviews, can mount up to 150 pounds almost anywhere without having to hit a stud. and costs less than twenty bucks.

i have NO affiliation with moen and if i hadn't already spent about a hundred dollars & had my tv mounted about a month before i read about the moen, i'd have my own wall mount hung (hanged?) that way.

someone on this site needs to test it & do a post about it. because, really ... it works & it costs less the $20.
