I'm not a parent yet, and while I plan on feeding my children healthy food when possible, I will not be one of those parents who never let their kids touch anything that isn't organic/gluten-free/nonGMO/ blah blah blah. I agree with the above commenter that being too stringent and forbidding your child from ever drinking a coke will likely make them want to run to the first vending machine they see once they're out from under your thumb. Generally I will not cater to someone's self-imposed restrictions or "diet" -- although for vegetarians I will make sure the main dish is something that can be served without meat (i.e. pasta with meat on the side) or that there are enough side dishes that are vegetarian so that they will be taken care of.
