My son (8 years old) has food sensitivities to gluten, dairy, eggs, oats, cane sugar, peanuts, soy, almonds, and sesame. In spite of this, it is amazing how many things he can eat and how great simple food can be. I feel very fortunate that he is dealing with this at a time when there are abundant resources and products available. However, I do miss being able to cook with cheese. I would like to know how much these subsidies actually help small farmers. From articles I have read in the past, many of these "farms" are HUGE agricultural factories--lots of fertilizer and chemicals, little respect for the land.
