Sigh...... "back in the day" , my rent was $125. My stereo cost $650. It consisted of a receiver, turntable, and 2 wooden speaker. All I remember is the turntable was Dutch, and the receiver was Pioneer. But what a cost ratio. No one I know would follow that ratio today including, so far, myself. But it was dreamy, and I deplore the dumbing down of sound. Thanks. Sophisticated Boom Boom: Symbol Audio |

Please tell me more about the sofa! Does it go flat for a bed? Where is it from? Anyway, love your place. Thanks! Regina & Hardy's Jack + Jill Heyday Home House Tour |

That's kind of mean to say about the precious little girl. She might be bored or aware that her picture is being taken. I see a tiny smile in the picture where she is jumping off the porch. Anyway, love the house! Shayne, Andrew & Family's Eclectic 100-Year-Old HomeHouse Tour |

In the mid-1970's the rent on my one bedroom was $125. My stereo cost $600. A receiver, a turntable, and 2 (wood) speaker. I believe the receiver was Pioneer, the turntable was Dutch (can't remember the brand),, nor do I know the brand of the speakers. But- WOW. Who today spends 5 x their rent on stereo equipment? I deplore the dumbing down of sound, and I am lost. I recently bought a Yahama system for my bedroom. I switched to MOG for the higher bit-rate. Do I need a DAC (digital-to-analog converter)? I live in Houston, which I believe is now the third largest city in the country, and we excel in arts and restaurants. There is so much live music here, and the diversity of cuisine is astounding. In addition to the Orange Show, we are known for our Art Car Parade, and yearly International Festival. among many other festivals. Thanks for mentioning us! I love this. What sofa is that? It all looks so lush and comfy, arty and luxurious. Very nice. Love the dog. You're cute, too! (I know that is inappropriate, my first time but couldn't help it). I could live in the apartment for sure. Ryan's Perfect Blank Canvas Small Cool Contest |

You expressed so well what I experience. While working we had those cold quiet gray days, filled with just the rare bird call and occasional floating leaf. Silvery light filled my apartment. Oh, the joy of books, teas, blankets, soups, naps. Now it's my day off- 76 degrees. Now what? Weekend Meditation: How to Cope with a Warm, Sunny Day in Winter |

I bought some leather/sheepskin slippers by Tamarac on Amazon for $19.95. The Jupiter style. They are not fashionable but soooo cozy and warm. Also, they have been very durable. Staying Warm: Products That Will Keep You Cozy |

I take a lot of tub baths. For years I used a hand-held shower head with a filter and used it to fill the tub. When I moved I discarded that (it stretched out the hose and looked ugly). Now I have just a filter for showers. Does anyone know how to have at least chlorine-free water in the tub? Like a Britta for Your Bath: The Rise of the Shower Filter |
