Lovely! Can you provide a source for the bedside table between two of the beds?

Cute, but $100? Land of Nod, this is a bit ridiculous, even for you.

We've used several of those ~$100 kits from Home Depot and they are not nearly as nice as this. Also, they are fairly limited unless you spend significantly more. This is really nice,

We bought the Learning Tower when my first was about 18 months old. ONe of the only big purchases we made other than the carseat. WORTH IT. (Though be prepared to stub your toes for two weeks until you get used to the footprint of the thing.)

I thought so! Your yard and floor plan look a lot like one a friend of mine lived in growing up. I lived much further north off Sunny Slope but my grade school split between the two schools after 6th grade. (P.S. thanks for that.) Also, I am now stalking Craiglist in my town looking for things (especially a blue Eames chair, it's been on my want list a long time).

What a fantastic design! Not everything is exactly my taste but it is obviously yours, and that is the best kind of design there is. I just went back and read the paint-the-trim post. We purchased a new home in April and it was also inundated with oak everything. I really enjoyed seeing your before and after and am getting a lot of confidence to do even more than the trim and doors. (Also, I grew up in New Berlin and I'm DYING to know what part of town you're in! On Wisconsin!)

A whole day? Walk through my house to discuss my ideas and get advice on creating a unified approach to design/color and to get ideas on how I might achieve what I'm looking for. And then specific furniture layout and kitchen design ideas (we have several drawn up). Finally, window treatments. We just moved into this house a few weeks ago and I'm going to have problems once all the trees around the house are leafless.

A Day With A Decorator:
What Would You Do?

We redid our kitchen in our old (1960's) home and the dark cabinets in the kitchen pick up the variationin the light oak floor, making it much more interesting and contemporary that I ever thought they would look. A midcentury-style couch and graphic fabrics make the whole area look contemporary without committing too much to one style in the fixtures. Good luck.

Nice. What's the wall color? I'm looking for something neutral but warm and this is it!

We got Swanson, too. Fried chicken, corn potatoes and a gooey brownie. I LOVED it as a kid.

We use these, too. Very cute, and distinctive without being big or intrusive to clothing. They stick better to tags than clothing directly.

I do the same as moxley2, with a bin in the closet for clothes that don't fit anymore.

In our six-drawer dresser, I've got: one drawer with hats, socks, lotion, medicine, bibs, misc., two drawers with clothes that fit now, two drawers with clothes the next size up, and one drawer with special items I'm going to keep (knit sweater from grandma, favorite shoes, etc.).
In the often-used drawers I don't fold anything, just group them in there by type (pants on one side, onesies and shirts on the other). Life is too short to fold baby clothes everyday.

Good Questions

I have one for my 2 yo daughter, mainly to keep my mother in law happy. She starts asking for Christmas lists at our annual 4th of July party. I learned to only put a few items on the list after the first year when EVERY item was purchased, much to my surprise.

I think the whole "What did you ask Santa for this year" question sets kids up for the present-centric craziness of the month. Though I know it's just a way for strangers (sales clerks, acquaintances, etc.) to connect with my kid, it drives me nuts. I always ask kids what their family is doing for the holiday rather than what they are getting.
