1 for bare counters look and practicality. I might use my coffee maker every single day but I wipe the counters at least 4-5 times a day. It is much easier to wipe it when nothing is in the way. Therefore I would rather put away my coffee maker in the morning then move it around all day while I wipe the counters. Does anyone out there agree with this logic?? or am I crazy? I love cleaning, there is no chore I don't like except ...I HATE HATE HATE ironing. It really bugs me that my husband and I both go to work looking wrinkled, however, there is nothing worse then ironing! After getting some advice from AT, I decided that I do have color phobias. I spend 2 weeks convincing by husband that painting our HUGEEE bedroom a blue/grey was a good idea. A week later the room was done. I hated it! Before the tape came down I spend another week repainting it. It looks great now ...in its original white version. :) The platform bed is from BoConcept....it was definitely a splurge on my part. To this day I sometimes feel guilty about not spending that money to feed a small country in Africa. Also, the BoConcept version comes with a frame that I removed because my mattress came up too high with it. Ikea sells a similar version for much cheaper. I am the the originator of the question... I completely agree with the crystal elements idea, I am currently torn between something that contains a shade versus a more classic type chandelier. I just read more then half of the comments listed....yea I am at work and wasting time, however, no one should be this interested in cleaning! I am definably the OCD type. Just to give you an example, when a guest comes over and leans on the wall or touches it with their hands it irritates the hell out of me! Hey! it leaves marks! (I never say anything) When guests don't even ATTEMPT to refold the towels after using them. (I never say anything) We are expecting 25 people this weekend, 10 are staying over night. I am looking forward to it. When a faucet isn't shiny, it bothers me. (I immediately shine all 3 bathrooms). Oh as far as the car goes...it is a total embarrassment to me. I am a smoker so it smells horrible. (I would never smoke or allow someone else to smoke in my house). I know I inherited this trait from my mother. We never got along and I thought her constant cleaning was totally unhealthy. It was a big surprise to me that I truly enjoy cleaning my house and having it museum clean. Oh and lastly, you unannounced guests - drop by my house. I like surprise visitors! Just don't expect too much in the food department... Just to balance out the negative views out there.. I bought a bed and two night stands at BoConcept because I liked the style and yes after reading the comments online held my breath until if was delivered. I realized I was taking a chance but was willing to do it. My experience has been extremely positive. No problems. The delivery guys were on time, put it together quickly, answered a few of our questions. The sales person in the store was also nice and very patient with me. I know it is frequently compared to IKEA, however, I just don't see it. I think the quality of IKEA furniture is much lower and I don't like the styles. It screems dorm room to me. I think BoConcept is a good option for your first " grown up" furniture. (No I don't work for BoConcept and my experience has been with the Cambridge, MA store.)
