My initials are VIP... my dad actually planned it that way and made up my first name because he didn't like any of the "normal" V names. I LOVE it and would get it monogrammed on more things but for the fear that people would think I was just super pretentious! I would need a disclaimer under my monogramming saying, no really these are my initials!! btw- my sister in law is another AMP! I live in a building on the historic register which I think says that I appreciate the classic... or that I too am a heartless yuppie. Seriously though, for me personally the outside of the builidng is as much of a draw as the inside. I don't think I'd want one without the other. This sound like such snobbery I know but I love it when I say which building is mine and people ooo and aaa a little!! I love that there is no mistaking this for anything but DC :). Shawn- after looking into it a bit further I stand corrected on the grammatical issue! However, I still believe that everyone is being a bit picky about this. Please let us remember that this is a blog, not literature. Should that not allow for some leeway? I have to say I think everyone is being a bit harsh. This is a forum for sharing ideas, peeking inside the homes and lives of others, and sharing resources. I hate to think that any of this negativity would take away from how exciting it is to have space dedicated to DC on AT. How cool is it that this is an original Sears bungalow!! Thanks for the peek inside Thomas. I prefer smaller spaces as well but with a family of five I don't think you have much choice! And this has definite uniqueness to it. I think the louvered kitchen cabinets are really interesting :) Do you know where the master bedroom bed is from? I love the integrated nightstands! Oh and to the grammar police- at what other point in the post is the family name referred to in the plural?? Picky, picky, picky... I say cheers for the tree stump piece as well! Love it- natural elements are being featured more and more in design- kudos to Thomas for picking up on that trend.
