It's so interesting that Mabrey's room looks navy. I have this exact same paint color in my living room which gets a lot of natural light and it almost always looks green. Just like you said, it does change a lot which I love, but I've never been able to see navy, just green and shades of gray. Can I ask how much light Mabrey's room gets? Maybe it is natural vs. artificial lighting. Love the room btw! Dana's "Sweet Navy" Room Room for Color Contest |

Beautiful space. I keep looking at the kitchen, but I don't see a stovetop or an oven...am I just missing it? Lily's Custom Design Small Cool Contest |

I feel like my instincts are designed to immediately question food colors that don't occur in nature. This takes it to a new level - I don't think my body would physically let me eat gold produce. Not that I have any desire to. Edible Spray Paint: Say What?! |

I agree with the part about "real life people" coming over and not knowing the difference. I had some friends over the other day and was mentioning that I had found some yellow chevron fabric I loved, but that you see it everywhere right now. All of them stared blankly at me until I went and pulled out the fabric and they said, "so, it's a zigzag?" My husband later gently chided me for using "fancy words" with our friends. :) How Do You Deal with Design Trends? |

I had a 1st gen iPhone since the day it came out and I let it charge overnight every night for 4 1/2 years (I only upgraded in November) and it didn't seem to affect how well it held a charge or create any long term problems. I don't know if it works the same for other phones or batteries, but it didn't seem to bother mine. Why You Shouldn't Leave Your Cell Phone Plugged in at Night |

I had a smaller (24"x24") mirror over the sink in my old apartment. I loved it because it mimicked having a traditional window over the sink with the added light and depth. There were upper cabinets over the whole wall the sink was on, but just this square of blank space between the cabinets and the sink - not practical for shelving, etc. I hated just staring at the wall, and it seemed like a practical solution since glass wouldn't be damaged by water. The mirror was easy to clean - I wiped down my counters with cleaner almost daily and I just cleaned both at the same time. Would You Hang an Oversized Mirror in Your Kitchen? |

Pallet wood in a kitchen! It may look nice, but pallets are chemically treated with wood preservatives as well as fungicides and pesticides and is generally not safe for indoor applications. The goods that are shipped on these pallets are also often fumigated with various chemicals - many of which are highly toxic. It is recommended that repurposed pallets remain outside (patio furniture, etc.) and I would not use pallet wood anywhere inside my home unless I knew for a fact it was not treated with anything, which I imagine would be difficult to come across. I don't know how they "cleaned them" but I think it is irresponsible for Apartment Therapy to not include a note about the dangers of reusing shipping pallets in your home as they are very different from other types of reclaimed wood. I agree with wendoug, there is no way that is only 1050 sqft, no matter how beautifully decorated it is. I do love their style however! Shannon & Dean Create a Contemporary Farmhouse House Tour |
