the chuck poster is a tribute to Chuck Ramirez a beloved local artist here in SA who died unexpectedly late last year. On the night of his memorial, my friend local artist Cruz Ortiz put these posters up all over our neighborhood. they were understandably never for sale.

This is my neighborhood of 17 years. It's nice to see it featured here, where San Antonio sometimes gets short shrift to its neighbor Austin. San Antonio remains ridiculously livable (if you like hot weather--beautiful winters, tho'). King William is a notoriously liberal and tolerant neighborhood, and long a home to many of the artists who make up SA's strong contemporary art scene.

When we moved back to Austin from Philadelphia in the early 90s, we were seduced by San Antonio's charm, ethnic mix and potential as an urban community.

King William remains a great place to live.

ook brand hooks are used by galleries, very strong, very easy to install, leave very small holes. why would anyone use anything else?

they are available at home depot among other places.

Those dining chairs are just hideous.

Semi-gloss white. Perhaps a very light grey.

Combining Austin and San Antonio as the map above does would be a great, diverse addition. Two very different cities, close together, both among the fastest growing in the US.
