Please please please leave your plunger in a reasonable place. Nothing is worse than have a toilet clog on you while your a guest in someones house. Not only did I panic and try to fix it first but when I went to find the plunger it wasn't in or near the bathroom. When I went for help I had completely forgotten my hosts had left and would be gone for hours.
My hosts are family so I felt semi comfortable poking in to other bathrooms and closets looking for a plunger and it wasn't there. I even checked the garage. Nothing. I looked every where. It was like they didn't have one. I later found out it was in the garage up in the attic. Yes, i forgot to check the attic for a toilet plunger. Excuse me for not checking the obvious place.
Moral of the story: if you don't want your plunger to be seen, that's fine just make sure its somewhere your guests will think to look. Otherwise just leave it tucked away in your bathroom.
