I found $12 and my boyfriend has money owed to him from a 2009 employer! This sounds like a corny TV law add...but wow!

The only books I've purchased strictly for decor are the Penguin Classics clothbound set. I'm also a book reader, have bookshelves of multi-read books and work in book publishing so I think I'm aloud.

I feel like this is a politically correct way to bread. Its more convenient to buy pre-sliced because I can't eat that much bread within a couple days and I store bread in fridge because I can't wait for bread to thaw everyday when I make my sandwiches for work. Great post in theory, but not convenient for the on-the-go person.

aaahhh...my hometown. I just posted about Huntington Beach in the comments for Los Angeles before seeing this, but, again, worth checking out. Also Lookout Point in Laguna Beach is romantic and great for scenic photographs. It has been awhile so I don't know how it is now, but the Orange County swap meet in Costa Mesa is (or was) the best swap meet ever!

RoRo's chicken is EXCELLENT. Another beautiful library is the Huntington Beach Library. Not technically in Los Angeles (It's in Orange County south of LA), but it is great place to visit.

The bathroom doorknob is non existent on the other side. I wanted to replace the doorknob w/ an Anthropologie one, but it wouldn't fit and so I returned it. I didn't know how to fit the original one back on so one side kept falling off after coming out of the bathroom. Home Depot isn't the easiest place to get to so I wait until I have a bigger purchase to go for and every time I go, I completely forget about the bathroom door.

I would probably recommend that Instagram filters not be used for this type of contest. Instagram'ing apartments just makes it look old and outdated. I think the apartment would look so much better (and brighter) if using a digital camera.

Side note: the kitchen reminds me of the kitchen scene in the Sixth Sense.

I have a destroyed leather love seat that i bought a cover for, but every time I sit on it, the cover looses its tight fit. Any ideas on getting a stretch fitted love seat cover for someone on a budget?

It was never about them living in apartments they can't afford. They CAN afford it...that's why they live there! It's not up to the tenant - its the landlord that is responsible for filing the correct paperwork. They are in there 70s and 80s for goodness sake...let them live! The people that are upset are the ones that are paying $2500/month for an apartment they just moved into. These tenants have been living in the same building for 60+ years and they pay accordingly. You have to realize that they may not have the same updated appliances that new tenants would have so they are probably getting exactly what they pay for.

For ex: I live in a rent control apartment and we had to buy our own fridge and stove because the original appliances were so old. The building would not replace because of the rent we pay. We are also thinking about replacing the floors, which would come out of our pocket just so we can maintain the rent as is.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. The whole point of having a book club is starting it with great discussion and socialize with friends in a more comfortable atmosphere. Sitting around quiet listening to an audio book doesn't pose as my idea of fun.

In New York (all boroughs), I wouldn't pay less than 900 and more than 1500 for a 1 bedroom. They're out there, it just takes a lot of patience.
