The cool thing about this is that you can really personalize by using a type of ticket depending on your interests. Like a rock concert, and art show, a classical music concert, a movie etc. Cool idea!

Love these ideas, I have two scientist sisters who love nerdy gifts. Last year I got my sister a necklace on etsy with the periodic table element that corresponds to her initial.

I would still put the sofa with its back to the window but pull it away from the window. That way you could do as suggested and have a window bench. Then I would put two occasional chairs facing the sofa. You could also consider built-ins next to the fireplace. I would spend my money on furniture and updating the fireplace surround instead of taking the fireplace out. Look for Peter Fallico's "home to flip" living rooms. They are both Toronto homes with the exact same layout.

I too am renting a drafty place. I always put up the plastic window covering. It is a bit fiddly because you use double sided tape to attach the plastic to the window frame. BUT I find it really keeps drafts at bay.
You make it really clear by blow drying the plastic, which make it taught. However, when the temperature changes inside or out you may see the plastic expand and contract.
This install job does go faster with two people!
I am interested in this new product though, especially for the patio door in my guest room, because I think it needs a more "heavy duty" product.

The most important thing is getting dressed. I generally put on my "house pants" for work, which are sweats that are distinct from pjs.

Love the flexibility, but you have to fight the boredom/isolation.

I've found listening to classical music (CBC 2 here in Canada) really helps me focus and avoid boredom. I guess it simulates the office buzz...
