That's a small flat panel tv. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, so being able to watch my shows while I'm cooking really helps (Old habit from my mom, who always watched tv on a tiny countertop tv in our kitchen while preparing dinner). I love love your new house, and I actually like the close up vignettes. It reveals your love of antiques and unique findings. Heather, sorry I haven't went back to this post in a while. The couch is mitchell gold and bob williams (mgandbw.com). they have so many different style couches that are pretty affordable. once in a while they have upholstery sales too. if you have room on the window sill, I put a picture frame in front of mine during the winter. And when I need to use it in the summer, just lean it on the floor right below it. i have the oddysey table from cb2, and its perfectly fine. the construction is pretty good compared to what i hear about ikea and its only 50 more than the ikea price. there is a difference at the bottom (ikea tulips out a little more) if you are that picky. i also think hamptons may let dogs on the beach. but i live in the city, and i take my lab to sandy hook beach on the jersey shore. they allow dogs in the "bay side" all year long, and on the ocean side after sept. its great because its never too crowded, and because he is very good, we don't have to keep him leashed up. its one of the very first beaches along the jersey shore, so it wont be too far of a trip for you guys. just look up sandy hook beach and read on it. but from personal experience, i love taking my dog there :) hope you try it out and have fun! It's definitely up to the parents to know if the child is ready or not. I grew up in Queens and was on my own at age 9. I was walking home from school which was 10 blocks away, and I personally think taking the NYC subway on a Sunday afternoon with a lot of people around is much safer than walking alone (or with my friends) on quiet streets in the outer boroughs. There is no call for child endangerment, because bad things happen even to adults. In this case, Izzy wasn't even forced, but was ready and willing to be independant.
