In my 500 s.f. apartment, I threw the idea of the TV out the window (as well as the cost) and opted for faster internet service. How many screens can one white living room handle before looking like a security centre or a bar? And for when I do upgrade to a laptop, I made sure I could transition my current furniture to accommodate a screen in the shelving and my small rolling computer table as a bedroom vanity!

Recycle and Reuse whenever and wherever possible--a little creativity can often go a long way and add loads of personality. Think of the karma.

I suggest making that blue really pop and become modern and livable--a chocolate brown wall paint.

That said, it certainly isn't for everyone; a carefully and well-done repaint of the cabinets is certainly doable (or you could have them professionally sprayed). Melamine and laminate can be painted over with the proper primer and preparations. So presenting the alternative: white it all out. Your (small?) kitchen will be airy, and your tiles would be perfectly accented with accessories of blue/green/brown shades.

...with all of this response there must be some rumblings. Right?

I have to make the patriotic vote... I'm overwhelmingly sure there are throngs of people waiting to contribute.

There's some great design in Canada, neighbours! (So we use a couple of extra 'u's' and 'eh's' occasionally, you'll get used to it)

A) Absolutely keep it--unnecessary & costly bathroom renovations in a rental bathroom? Nope. I'm sure it will be put to use by someone.

B) Who wants their face in the urinal? Probably noone, but a simple wall shelf installed vertically between the two (Ikea's Lack shelf, for example) would do the trick and make it easier to clean up in the bathroom.

...taste completely goes a long way--try repainting your kitchen cabinets in a high-gloss black! But it just looked so great, my landLADY was thrilled.

And here in Toronto, at least, generally floating floors are permitted.

Just had to post: I took almost EXACTLY the same shot in Amsterdam a few years ago, walking enchantedly down the streets... imagine my excitement to see we shared that same frame!!
