...Also, I feel like if you can't look at your toaster and know it's a toaster, you have more to worry about than how it's labelled.

But I love the concept anyway!

I don't think I ever tasted cilantro until I was... at least in high school, if not later. But I loved it from the start anyway!

I second the chili sauce, and you can probably find some great spices and curry mixes for cheap! I've been there twice, and I didn't really have a chance to cook for myself either time, but I ate some incredible food there.

Funny, I wolf down cold foods, and I rarely feel anything from them! Maybe I just keep it lower in my mouth, so it doesn't shock my upper palate.

I was over at my best friend's house all the time as a kid. The number one cool thing she had was a number of video game systems! I was enthralled, and later inspired to secretly buy a Super Nintendo that I only took out and played when I was home alone.
Her dad did carpentry and landscaping work, and I was absolutely in love with their koi pond and this little ornamental tree that grew in twists and loops and knots (we called it a weirdwood tree, but I don't know what it really was).
Also, her mom gave me candy. It was a win-win situation for me. :)

Thank you! I work at a summer camp, and we have poison ivy all over. A lot of people are confused about what it looks like.

My mom can get poison ivy by just looking at it from a distance, but the only time I ever developed the rash was when I petted a horse that had brushed against it, then scratched just under my bra... It was rather uncomfortable.

I remember being the only "Alexandra" I knew up until... pretty much college. I couldn't find my name on a novelty license plate anywhere. Now it's pretty common, but I still get called "Alexandria" more often than not.

All my parents ever did with beets was boil them, slice them, and serve them with some vinegar. I wasn't a huge fan. Then I went to Australia for a couple weeks, and they serve them on sandwiches there! And I realized, there's a whole world of beets out there that I've been missing! I can't wait to try some new beet ideas.

We used to make sun tea infused with the mint from our garden, when I was little! It was delicious.

We freeze a lot of blueberries in the summer. They're great to put on ice cream, with plain yogurt, in lemonade/juice, or just to eat on their own!

I've always thought this would be an incredible thing to do. I'd live in a converted church! The church across the street from my house was for sale a few years back... but it's massive, far too big to be good for one person to live in!

My grandmother used to make popovers for some holiday meals! With butter. Sometimes they were a bit burnt, but she tended to overcook everything anyway... They were still good, though!

I experience this too, although I'm not a bit Asian. I'm half German and half English/Irish/Scottish/etc. I turn red after a few swallows of alcohol. I have very pale skin, and I've always changed colors at the slightest provocation. I blush easily too, even when I don't feel that embarrassed. I took judo for a semester in college, and was always being told to tap out quickly because I was turning purple, but I felt like I was breathing just fine. It's slightly embarrassing at times, but I never thought I could do anything about it.

After working with horses for many years, I've developed an affection for dirt. After a day at the barn, I come home covered in dust, dirt, sweat, poop particles, and hair. Sometimes I think I've gotten a tan, only to have it wash off in the shower. I'd rather eat something that fell on the ground there than just about any public floor. I don't mind the dirt.

The best wedding favor I ever got was a s'mores kit. Each box came with 2 marshmallows, 2 half chocolate bars, and 4 half graham crackers, plus a little instruction sheet. Cute, fun, and easy!

I happened upon a Le Creuset dutch oven at Goodwill a couple months ago, in perfect condition, for $8. I snapped that right up!!

I always saw a microwave as the ultimate must-have kitchen item. Then I spent a year teaching in Korea. I was given a furnished apartment for the year. Refrigerator, stove, rice cooker, toaster oven. No oven. No microwave. I was really put out over the lack of microwave at first, but I got used to it. I got into the habit of making a BIG batch of something (usually some form of curry) on Sunday, and eating away at it over the week. I just spooned what I wanted into my little pan and heated it up on the stove. It worked out just fine!

Mmm! I like toast with a fried egg, cheese, sauteed onion, and a thin slice of fresh tomato. Plus random spices or herbs. One day dried basil, the next day lemon pepper... Sometimes hot sauce.
