Now that I travel with a little one, I like using VRBO to find a place, even if it is just for a few days. It's usually the same price as a hotel, has a kitchen, and means that we don't have to hide in the bathroom or hallway while we wait for the little guy to fall asleep!

Circus cookies at the beach. I thought I was going to be the mom who brought the fun treats to the beach. Instead I found out that they melted in the hot car on the way there, and when little sandy hands tried to get them out the result was melted icing mixed with sand on shortbread cookies. good times. I gave my self an A for effort though.

I have a friend who breaks the ice simply by saying, "Ron Jeremy." The first person to respond gets a smile, handshake, and a friend for the evening. It's funny to watch.

I like to ask people what was their first concert was, who they went with, and how old they were when they went. It's always fun to share concert stories.

Got to replenish the body's lost electrolytes so gatorade, pedialyte, or some soup with crackers will do. Follow it up with a long walk to justify dozing on the couch while the latest professional golf match plays on the t.v. quietly.

I love rutabaga! I cube it and roast it in a root veggie shepard's pie- very tasty!

I think the only way I'll ever have Le Creuset is if I win it. My fingers are crossed!
