LOVE this house. Probably my favorite tour on Apartment Therapy. Exactly how I want to live. Very peaceful, livable, practical. Not right out of a magazine. This space has character and charm. Wonderfully done.

Love it. I did a bubble chandelier myself recently.

I think it's beautiful from a design stand point, but I'd never be able to set foot in there without fearing for my life. Kudos to the people who live with it every day.

My last place was soooo run down (it was the only place I could afford at the time), I had to finally replace a lot of things on my own because the landlord didn't care. As long as it "worked", he didn't see a need to replace it. (He also was 85 years old.) So, over the course of 4 years, I re-grouted the tiled kitchen counter, replaced the flooring in the bathroom, replaced the old rusted medicine cabinet, removed the cruddy glass shower doors(but stored them carefully if the landlord wanted them put back), replaced the moldy caulking in the shower, removed all of the mismatched towel bars in the bathroom, replaced all the leaking sink fixtures, replaced the blue toilet seat with a white one to match the toilet, replaced some kitchen cabinet hinges that were so painted over, the doors refused to latch closed, pulled off all of the gross painted over CONTACT paper past tenants had put up in the kitchen and bathroom, to find that it pulled most of the plaster off, so I had to redo the walls too.

Even though the place was a rental, I figured it's better to fix up some small, inexpensive things so I could enjoy living there (and the landlord said I could do anything I wanted except knock down walls.) The next tenant actually thanked me for all of the upgrades when she moved in. Everybody wins.

I think it's lovely. Gave me lots of ideas for my apartment. I run through Venice with my marathon training group every Saturday morning, so it's nice to see the inside of one of these houses.

Yes, home tour, please. Love your place and use of color. From the trees outside of your windows, it looks like your place is peaceful and private. I hear Woodstock is like that. I hope to visit the area someday. I'm from PA, so I know the beauty of the mountains.

That's awesome. I have that exact pink bowl sitting on my desk here at work this very second. I just had a salad in it. I hope to have a child someday who will want to help me cook in the kitchen with that very bowl. What a precious photo. Thank you for sharing.

I just moved into an apt with a separate shower and tub and I had to put the litter box in the tub as well. You do what you have to do.

Absolutely LOVE your home. I'm struggling with how to fix my new place up and you both have given me some wonderful ideas.

Very happy the pup is healthy.

Love your place!

I'm about to move out of my studio apt and while I lived there, I just couldn't get used to seeing my bed as soon as you walked through the front door. So, I sandwiched it up against the wall in the corner and partitioned the room off with bookcases up against the bed. It created a cozy bed nook that I just loved. Changing the sheets is a pain in this configuration, but you do what you gotta do! Rock on Jennie!

Here was my bed nook. I'll surely miss it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8237960@N06/5070193265/in/photostream

Hire movers for the big/heavy stuff. Ask a few good friends to "hang" with you during the move (moral support, help facilitate where things go, etc.) They can also help with precious things you don't want the moving company to touch. Everyone wins!

We're (the west coast) is happy to have you!

I've never had an apt with a built in fireplace, so I've made two different ones over the years myself. One was a giant one like in many of the photos and another that was a corner unit about 8' high. I burn candles in them and use the (current) corner one as my meditation corner. I live in a studio, so every inch does double duty.

Hope you find a space you love to call home!
