I entered this contest a couple of years ago living in 270 sq feet. Now I live in 600 sq. feet and it seems gigantic. Can't wait to see this year's entries!

If you know anyone in Australia, Madame Bovary and C&P are in stock at Borders. However the Aussie Borders will not ship internationally. I had a friend willing to bring me the books back from Sydney.

- you can sit on your bed and type on the laptop at your desk
- you own one chair that pulls triple duty as a dining, living room and vanity chair
- the color palette of storage boxes concerns you because all your guests will see them
- your daily reads are the NYT, Apartment Therapy and Ikea Hacker
- you visit your friend's 500 sq foot apt and think, "wow! this is HUGE!"

(still wouldn't trade it for the world.)

Echoing the other fans of the Billy Bookcases. I have two of them with nyckelby doors and I just adore them. They've held my magazine files for two years with no sagging. I also have two Lack shelves on their side to create a captain's bed and they've survived in great shape.

I hope to upgrade someday but for now big box suits me just fine. I have a dresser from Crate & Barrel I use as living room storage, coffee and side tables from Pier 1, the Logan media center from Pottery Barn and a cute pub table from Linens N' Things, among other pieces. They've all served their purpose well.

And still he can never choose a movie. ;) Just kidding, this is pretty amazing. Very clever use of space.

That would be an invitation to get your purses stolen, methinks.

I adore this table! Some friends have it and it is great for city living. If I still had an outdoor space I would invest in a second.

Your apartment looks so warm and inviting. The bedroom is probably my favorite part. Wonderful job, thank you for sharing!

The multifunctional kitchen is amazing. It took me a moment to realize all that shelving is also where the fridge lives! Some people do less with three times the space. Nicely done.

Love your space! It looks like someone actually lives here, not a showroom. I used to live in a space with limited natural light -- I empathize if you're in the same boat. The piece over the fireplace is divine. Lovely.

Love the headboard in this shot. Anyone know where it is from (or if it's custom-made)?

I use a raised bowl. It has a few added bonuses -- the pup doesn't push it around like he did with his floor bowl, he doesn't spill as much and the raised height keeps the critters away.

Awesome idea. I have been looking for a vertically-approved storage solution for awhile. So simple but I never would have thought of this. I took advantage over the weekend and it's working out great. Love that you can see what's inside each unit.

I pay $1750/mo for a tiny (less than 300 sq feet) apartment on 76th/3rd...but it was completely redone before I moved in and I have a nice private backyard.

I have friends paying:
- $1350/mo for a 350 sq foot studio at 107th/Columbus
- $1950/mo for a 1 br on 78th b/t Columbus and CPW
- $2450/mo for a doorman studio at 66th/3rd
- $3200/mo for a luxury 1 br doorman near Union Square
