I use steel for snacks and things for my kid. But I can't store things in them in the fridge because I forget what's in them. I need to be able to see like with the glass. Plastic-Free Containers: Steel vs. Glass |

We are lucky to live in a rural area with parents who are farmers, so it's easy for us to be connected with our meat. Some of it cost more (or berkishire pork) and some of it costs less (um, we get beef for free from our parents) so for us it works out fine. We probably eat 90% local meat. It seems that in a lot of cases the cost is reasonable if you buy a large amount, we have a large and small deep freeze in the basement. Always, Sometimes, Never? Questioning Your Meat's Origin |

I live in BC, Canada, not California. However I do try to eat what's in season. I was more strict before I had a kid though. We eat a lot more frozen veggies and root veggies in Winter. And luckily we all love apples a lot! No choice but the grocery store in this small town though, I try to stock up when we go somewhere with a good co-op or fruit stand. I took my decorations down yesterday. Partly because I'm 38 weeks prego and kept thinking it felt like a lot of work, but partly because I love the glowiness. I would happily keep the cozy feeling all winter. Why My Christmas Lights Are Still Up |
