Why do you prefer traditional cast iron skillets. I love my enamelled one -- it gets a great sear without the mess!

I tried this, then went ahead and planted them in a pot on my windowsill. It's been about 6 months and they're still going strong, and continue to taste great.

I'm gluten intolerant and for the past couple of years have been making a pumpkin chiffon pie with a Rice Chex crust that people go nuts for. Just don't add any salt to the crust bc the Rice Chex already have salt added.

I'm gluten free and panna cottas are my dinner party standby, esp when made with buttermilk. You can even make them in cupcake wrappers or ramekins and top with fruit. Super easy, and a lot of bang for very little work.

I just bought Pillivuyt's Plisse egg cups and I love them. Not only do they work for eggs, but they make perfect mini ramekins for all kinds of amuses.

I'm not sure how I managed to mess up a "foolproof"
recipe, but somehow I managed. Milk never really reduced, so I ended up with a milk braise and had to reduce the cooking liquid by hand at the end with a beurre manie for regular milk gravy. Maybe it's that I used ultra pasteurized milk? Or not enough lemon?

just tried this for the first time, but added scallops and clam juice (instead of water). amazing -- the boyfriend loves it and usually he only loves red meat!

I did mine in a modern farmhouse renovation with white tin ceiling tiles on the back shield and galvanized sheet for the floor. It did a great job of lightening and modernizing what could be a heavy traditional look.

oops - think I made a mistake. The ebay store I actually bought the credenza from is Bjork Antikt

I'm always surfing Svenska, though.

I love this store. Tip: they have an Ebay site as well with some fab bargains - last year I scored this 1940's Swedish flame birch credenza for around $1000. I retrofitted it to hold a 35 inch flat screen, and it's now the centerpiece of my living room.

I had the same issue with yellowish-white bathroom tile and ended up painting the bathroom Benjamin Moore's Racing Orange, which is a dark orange that looks fabulous! Link here
