I have a love hate relationship with my woodstove. It heats my entire tiny cottage, which I love, is cozy and beautiful in the winter. I hate that the ugly black pipe goes up into the ceiling and sure wish I could come up with a way to decorate the wall behind it. I've tried everything, just can't get it right. I know this is dumb, but in my childhood homes we had squirrels get in the basement on a regular basement. An old-fashioned, bugs-bunny style trap, with a box propped up by a stick we held a string to worked every time. A little bait under the box, the squirrel goes in, you pull the string and the box goes down, trapping it harmlessly.
