i'm sorry, but that first blanket is an OTOP blanket from thailand. i have several. & you can get a queen for about $20. they do a special weave. so, i recognize it. these are meant to fund local villages. i seriously hope this person is not reselling these at a markup.

i'm at a loss as to exactly WHAT went wrong??? O_o did you expect nyc night noise would be crickets? did you think you'd not have construction? place looks pretty nice. be happy.

you can do whatever you want! if that will function better for you, then do it. in our first apt, we both felt more comfortable in a studio, but we were in a 1 br. br & bth off on one end & the lr & kit were in one large space. we moved our bed area into the living room next to the fireplace & our couch & my art supplies went into the darker bedroom. it fit us well b/c most of the time we were in one space. if i got insomnia & wanted to watch tv or work on art, i could do so w/o feeling weird. people thought we were nuts, but who cares?? if it works for your life, do it.

i used to crave a sunny room, but after getting a few of these & never being able to nap, i'm very happy to now have a dark, dark room.

although my room is really dark, i do get one great plus. the double doors are HUGE & open to my main room which is just feet from basically a wall of glass looking into my garden. so, at night i sleep w/ those doors open & i wake up to sunlight, but doors closed, it's dark dark dark.

i like to spend a day cooking & storing meals. so, when i'm ready to eat, i have a few healthy options ready. chopping fruit, making soup or curry bases (just add water or rice & heat). otherwise, i just walk to the corner & get food (it's asia, it's easy, healthy & often cheaper)

my current home.

about $500 (low to mid range here). i live on a tropical island.

a couple (my landlord) started their retirement here & they were friends w/ one of the guys who designs some of the top spas here. so, it feels like one. huge wall sized windows, balinese garden, fish fountains, high ceilings, outdoors shower w/ rock garden, etc. it's been a total blessing. living here is often very difficult, but this home helps me stay sane.

A FEW DETAILS:
unlike most places in this country i have a western kitchen (cabinets FTW) & a normal sized fridge (most here are dorm sized)
i have a washing machine. i'd spent a year & a half washing everything by hand outside. it's still outside, but YAY!
amazing bathroom w/ an outdoor shower & a deep tub (also unheard of unless you're in a hotel).
completely air conditioned w/ free electric.
gorgeous private walled in garden.
about 15 min from anywhere i want to go.
amazingly nice landlord.
bed is like over 9 feet wide!!!
& a closet carrie bradshaw would die for. also, this is a country that does not normally have closets.

*not bad considering my last place didn't even have a sink & i was constantly waking up to frogs in my kitchen!

ps- try not to let the "stylized" comments upset you. when i got into some of the finals for room for color, that's about the meanest thing people could say. i'm sorry, but what exactly is wrong w/ cleaning your room before you take a photo? lol if the worst someone can say is that it is stylish, good on ya.

too many closeups, but the one large pic is really nice. i really like it.

do not use on you cats. it would be toxic. so, once they started licking their coats to dry off, they are being poisoned. not good
