Great post, a good reminder that having personal connections is so important with children, pets and adults alike. Community is essential.

As for all the comments about purchasing houses: what a privileged attitude. You may not have notices, but many families and folks are in an economic crunch. Saying "go buy a house", makes you seem not only rude but ignorant and cold hearted.
